12/8/07- Aquired via trade with Santoslhalper in 2005
Presentation- 12oz bottle with no freshness info on the label. It's at least a 2005 version though, probably older. Poured into my Duvel tulip.
Appearance- Light copper-amber colored pour. Smooth and creamy 1/2 inch white head. Settles at a slight rim. Leaves the nice ufo circle in the middle. Lacing is prevelent.
Smell- Light alcohol nose with some dark fruits (plums, raisins and dates). Sweet and dark malt notes as well. Light hop aroma also.
Taste- As in the nose, a fairly good alcoholic punch in the face. Mellow yet a tad harsh. Hops are more prevelent in the taste than in the nose. Carmel goodness with a dark malt richness. Taste a touch of orange muscat like flavor with other mingling dark fruits.
Mouthfeel- Rather solid carbonation level. Smooth, yet a bit brisk and chewy...cola like at times.
Drinkability- Overall a good quad. I've had better, but I would go back to this one again.
