Kept in the fridge for a few weeks this beer had a slight haze and light hue when poured. The creamy white foam diminished quickly but laces well. A blend of citrus, white wine, spices and yeast combine in an unique aroma.
The flavor is brought to life by the fruity taste and acidity.
The carbonation is lively but not that which is typically found in Belgian styles.

This brew pours an opaque, hazy straw color with a small white head which dissipates after a few minuets then collects around the edge of the glass. Light lacing. Good carbonation

The smell is bubble gum, musty hay, coriander and some banana; maybe some Grains Of Paradise as well.

The taste follows the nose with sweet malts, then spices then banana hitting in sequence with light peppery hops on the back-end. The taste seems to improve as the beer warms up.

The mouthfeel is tangy, possibly due to the high carbonation, and smooth. Kinda feels like a "hard lemonade" if you let it sit for a few seconds; goes down smoothly.

Overall this brew took some getting used to; I did not like it the first time I had it but the second time is a charm, it has grown on me. There are other wheat beers out there that are better but this one is worth a try.

08/25/11 I knew it then as Weyerbacher Blanche, but is now known as White Sun Wit and is available seasonably.

Not that I mind as I found it to be just OK. A tad heavy, even at just 5% ABV.

The "coriander and dried curacao orange peels" used to create a "clean finish...with just a hint of tart spiciness" missed the mark, IMHO.

I like American Wit beers usually was well as Belgians, they're just different. I like this brewer. But find them inconsistent.

A: Must aggressively pour, and when you do, rewarded with big foamy white sudsy head, that lace and laces all the way down. Cloudy lemony yellow body.

S: Perfumey, but a bit medicinal. Flowers, fruit blossom, plus wheat, musty spice, brine, clove, bright yeast, and a bouquet of fruit blossoms.

T: Follows smell onto the sweeter, maltier direction as in flower/orange/coriander cookies. More orange flower water than bitter or peppery. Finishes nicely, fruity, and a bit medicinal which mars it enough that I'd go elsewhere. Two would be one too many.

MF: Soft, perfumey, light, watery. Not alcoholic. Good with food.

Too fruity for me to drink more than one. But feminine, flowery, perfumy if you like em that way.

Appearance - Cloudy light golden color with a one finger off-white colored light head that dissipated quickly, small amounts of bubbles rising in the glass.

Smell - Citrus, coriander, and floral followed by biscuit and a faint spiced finish

Taste - Strong coriander followed by sweet wheat then light slightly tart citrus with a light sour citrusy biscuit finish.

Mouthfeel - Light, smooth, light carbonation with a dry finish

Overall - Refreshing and sessionable. Very good wit beer.
