Appearance - Pours a black oil-like color with some reddish-brown head that disappears quickly. No light passes through, a true black beauty of a stout.
Smell - A whiskey-soaked scent comes through first and it smells great. A few chocolaty and nutty scents come through as well. Makes me hungry smelling this brew. I can tell I am in for a treat.
Taste - Incredible. The whiskey tastes hit you first and then it cools you down with a chocolate/coffee/nut type of flavor. It is such a good balance and excellent taste that I haven't had before in any brew. This is an explosion.
Mouthfeel - Smooth and milky with a bit of a bite from the alcohol. Goes down very easy with a lot on the palate to get your taste buds working overtime.
Drinkability - Not sure on the alcohol content, but I drank three in one sitting and was feeling ok. I could have a few of these every time I crack one. This is a real treat.
Overall - If you can get your hands on it, go grab a case, six, whatever. This is an absolute MUST TRY. An excellent brew that hopefully will get some to stop hating on Weyerbacher.
