Copper orange body with reddish hues, a behemoth tan head, creamy, and tightly bundled, leaving a generous sticky lacing to grasp the inside of the glass.
The aroma is molasses sweet with vanilla and wood (oak, increasingly noticeable as it warms) with a bourbon like flavor and raisins or other dark fruit.
Whoa, the label is appropriate, and I now feel like the creature on the label! Big time malt/bourbon/oak/slightly sweet/intense alcohol all at once. Perhaps even some bread and almost a banana like aftertaste with a spice/alcohol burn on the throat. The sweet malt and bourbon flavors become more prevalent as the beer warms.
On the heavy side of medium bodied, slightly syrupy, medium carbonation.
This is one heck of a bold beer. Tons of strong, but diverse flavors, easy to drink, more character as it warms. Great brew.
