Weyerbacher Insanity is sweet, vanilla-y, and thin.
It poured cloudy dark brown, like a dirty old penny or muddy pond water. There was no head and it left no lace. The aroma was very strong, even during the pour, with hints of vanilla and a bit of dark fruit. The flavor was sweet, dominated by vanilla followed by booze. The feel was lacking. It slid quickly over the tongue, leaving a slightly odd bubbly feel with nothing that lingered long.
The smell and flavor were enough to make Insanity an enjoyable cold-weather, or after-dinner, sipper; however, it doesn't make enough of an impact to seek out again, or justify the price.
