Extremely sweet smell, characterized by loads of toffee, alcohol, fruits (cherries?) and a boatload of molasses. Some bread as well. And oh yeah, alcohol. Bourbon specifically.
Taste is also like a dessert. The main force in the taste for me is a heavy, sweet brown sugar, with loads of molasses as well as some bread. There's a fruity quality as well that really comes out as it warms up, maybe cherries? The bourbon shows on the finish, though not all as much as I may have though...and a note of oak on the finish as well.
Deceptively smooth for its ABV. As you'd expect, this beer is big and sweet....but it's dang drinkable.
