Review number 100! Ok, no big deal compared to the guru's here but I saved a special one for this. I love this beer and put one back.
Poured into a DFH snifter.
appearance: Dark crimson. This beauty looks like a nice tawny prot but with a head. Nice creamy head that doesn't recede fully despite the abv.
smell: mmmm...that deep buttery, dark fruit redolence that only a near perfect barleywine or strong ale can have.
taste: oh yeah. All that the nose advertises and surprisingly mellow.
mouthfeel: tick, creamy, decadent.
drinkability: Amazingly smooth.
This is an oak aged version of Blithering Idiot. That's a nice beer, but I'm not sure what can happen in those oak casks. This is a different beer completely.
