Appearance: Poured into a tumbler. Pours a rich, murky reddish orange with a half-finger, beige head.
Aroma: Vanilla, rich dark fruits, slight woodiness.
Taste: Rich dark, candied fruits are dominant, with a very nice undertone of vanilla and woody smoothness.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied, slightly viscous, but comparatively light for the style. Very drinkable for 11%, alcohol is present but not at all offensive.
Overall: Really nice barleywine. Barrel character seems very restrained, and the result is a very drinkable, nicely complex ale.
Serving type: bottle
