22 oz bomber that I had been saving for a couple months for a worthy occasion--finished a big project at work, time to break out the big beer. Pours a dark reddish amber, quite bright and clear when held up to the light, the scantest of heads upon the initial pour, and some thin spotty lacing. I've been drinking a lot of pumpkin beers recently, especially smuttynose, and this smells a lot like that--cinammon, nutmeg, allspice,--but there's some other spices in there too that I can't put my finger on. Taste is an extremely sweet honeylike malt upfront, giving way to vanilla, orange, and plum overlaid with the same spices from the nose, and a finish which definitely tastes of alcohol, although with the spicey and honey aftertaste its a very good finish despite this. Mouthfeel is thick and creamy, very nice. I really liked this beer--and the name is quite fitting. Decadently spiced and decadently sweet, these two components meld together into a suprisingly drinkable high ABV brew. Another great big beer from Weyerbacher.

Pours a seriously viscous syrupy dark golden honey color. Zero head with some spotty lacing at best.
Aromas are all spice initially; lots of ginger, cardamom and earthy/peppery notes. The honey aromas emerge more and more as it warms and spices subdue slightly.
The tastes directly follow the nose which I was hoping they weren't. Really spicy, with a lot of cardamon and ginger backed by a huge earthiness from the honey and pretty much straight honey flavor as well. I think they may have used a Belgian yeast on this beer as I am getting some peppery flavors in the finish.
Mouthfeel is super slick and syrupy at this point. Considering how old this beer is (2007/08 I think), it had held up pretty well. No alcohol, lots of sweetness, may be too much for some. I could only handle 4-6 oz myself before I asked for help.
Overall, a nice novelty beer but I am glad they went a different direction with their anniversary beers after this one. Not much else to say here.
