This was a mixed case of Weyerbacher 'Big Beers' picked up at Brewskies of New Oxford, PA. Around $52.00.
Look: Poured a very cloudy orangish copper color. Two finger white frothy head with excellent retention and lacing. Carbonation was rather low for a bottle conditioned beer. Sediment was noticable at the bottom of the class.
Smell: Sweet floral armoa with overly ripe grapefruit and rich malty notes.
Taste: The palate just bursted open with tropical fruits and some spicy hops. The finish was somewhat clean with sweet grapefruit notes and a slight alcohol warmth. Body was full and syrupy with a soft mouth feel. I just kept wanting more after each sip.
This is an excellent double IPA. The drinkablity and complexity was just off the charts.
