It goes without saying that I was happy to see this one. Redder than most DIPAs with streaming bubbles, a stacked head, and not just lace but chunks of head ala some Belgo-styled beers.
Nose is pine-tar hop nirvana, resin, dank, near-stingy herbal hops. Pungent akin to Dreadnaught or Ruination. Addictive to bring back to the schnoz.
Taste is a refreshing hop-smack. Bitterness everywhere, great hop flavor everywhere, a touch hot in the middle. The end is tongue-searing hop-activity. Iced-tea, lemon rinds. Interestingly aggressive. For this reason, it doesnt quite have the instant-lovability of some easier DIPAs.
Alpha Acids? Yes. I surely cant taste malt, my goal when going for a good DIPA. Aggressive, but with whose in its league, its gotta be.
