Enjoyed at Brick Store Pub over Labor Day weekend. Poured from the tap into a Weyerbacher tulip.
A--Golden orange with hints of dark orange when the light hit the beer. Also had a full 3" stark-white head that was very foamy and engulfed nearly 1/3 of the tulip. The head lasted a good long while before finally dissipating and leaving a small ring around the outer edge of the glass.
S--Grapefruit bomb. This had a sharp, tangy bitterness of the fruit. There was also a wonderful pinecone and resin smell. This is one of the strongest beers I have smelled.
T--Definitely able to taste grass, pinecone, and hops. THen comes the painfully bitter grapefruit juice. The acid of this beer scorched my tongue. Took a long time to adjust.
M--Medium bodied, almost thick mouthfeel. Heavy hops and citrus made it a bit hard to drink. The taste buds suffered from this one.
O--This was a really good DIPA, but it was almost a little bit too intense for me. My taste buds adjusted near the end of the drink, but by then it was almost too little too late. Would love to try this one in a food pairing with a sharp cheddar. Perhaps the creaminess of the cheese would cut down the acidity in the beer and mellow it out a bit.

Appearance is an opaque dark rust orange and poured a never ending head.
Smells of grapefruit and citrus in the nose and sweet malt on the finish
Sweet caramel and malt notes with a biter citrus hop finish.
Mouthfeel is thick and sticky just how I like my IPAs.
Overall a damn good brew and would most certainly sample again.

Poured from a bottle to a snifter.
Pours a magnificent orangeish-amber. Creamy foam head with decent retention. Not much lacing. A little murky.
Aroma is a strong balance of citrus, pine, and malts. Heavy on the grapefruit, and a little bit of orange.
Orange, grapefruit, and bitterness hit me first. A good deal of grassiness. Pine and caramel notes. A little less hoppy than I had imagined. Alcohol is masked incredibly well for 9%.
Medium-bodied, not too much carbonation. A little syrupy.
Overall, one of the more underwhelming DIPAs I've had. Not bad, at all, but definitely wouldn't be my first recommendation.
