12oz. bottle poured into imperial pint glass.

A: Pours almost a penny copper hue with a two-finger cream-white head that eventually fades to about a half-inch and retains wonderfully. A few thick splotches of lacing left behind.

S: Tons of powerful rustic, earthy pine in the nose. Some fresh citrus flavors peer through the earthiness—grapefruit mainly, but I also feel like I'm detecting some orange here too... Slightly spicy and zesty, with just a hint of malty sweetness beneath. My description may not sound like much, nor is it overly unique, but this is one of the greatest beer aromas I've encountered. If Yankee Candle made this scent into a candle, my house would smell like this every day!

T: Doesn't really follow the nose note for note... The flavor profile is dominated by waves of fresh-squeezed pink grapefruit juice followed by touches of orange juice. A little bit of caramel malt in the middle, quickly silenced by a devastating wave of pine and grassy bitterness. A little bit of spice from the alcohol is silently added in the lingering aftertaste. There's some other stuff going on in the finish that I can't fully decipher. For a single hop brew, this is complex as can be!

M: Full-bodied, controlled carbonation that crisp and adds just enough effervescence and lets the flavors really shine. A bit on the chewy side and definitely quite sticky. A slightly creamy texture, but mostly sticky. Truly wonderful. A bit ham-handed in the alcohol department as it warms to room temperature (60 degrees or so). Not really an issue, but definitely something to keep in mind if you're a fan of having the booze completely masked.

O: Weyerbacher is another respectable PA brewery that I always keep and eye out for. This is the 2nd brew I've had the chance to review (albeit the 5th or 6th I've tried) and is definitely their shining star. A total hop-bomb without wrecking the palate. Truly a treat to drink and it'll be finding its way into my fridge a lot more often.

A: Pours a deep amber, with a small cream head that fades quickly.

S: Floral, piney and citrusy.

T: Pine notes predominate, subdued and not bitter. Grass and citrus as the beer warms.

M: Smooth and medium, if a little chewy.

O: A fine, balanced and very tasty beer.
