This beer pours a hazy orange with alot of carbonation intially and a nice small creamy head that hangs around for awhile. Smells of hop citrus with an ever so slight bit of peppery malt. Taking a sip, there's citrus up front with a momentary malt sweetness in the middle followed by an all out hop assault at the end with strong grapefruit flavor. The hop bitterness of this beer in unbelievable. (The IBU's are at 153.) The malts are vaguely there underneath and do very little to keep the hops in check, it's one of the most unbalanced beers I've ever tasted, but that's O.K., I like 'em bitter and this one delivers. I may as well stick a straw straight into a Simcoe hop.

This is one huge hop bomb, very smooth, unbelievably bitter, and a hop head's dream. I could sip a few of these in one sitting, I absolutely love this one and is my favorite beer from Weyerbacher, hands down.

Appearance is an opaque dark rust orange and poured a never ending head.

Smells of grapefruit and citrus in the nose and sweet malt on the finish

Sweet caramel and malt notes with a biter citrus hop finish.

Mouthfeel is thick and sticky just how I like my IPAs.

Overall a damn good brew and would most certainly sample again.

Poured from a bottle to a snifter.

Pours a magnificent orangeish-amber. Creamy foam head with decent retention. Not much lacing. A little murky.

Aroma is a strong balance of citrus, pine, and malts. Heavy on the grapefruit, and a little bit of orange.

Orange, grapefruit, and bitterness hit me first. A good deal of grassiness. Pine and caramel notes. A little less hoppy than I had imagined. Alcohol is masked incredibly well for 9%.

Medium-bodied, not too much carbonation. A little syrupy.

Overall, one of the more underwhelming DIPAs I've had. Not bad, at all, but definitely wouldn't be my first recommendation.
