Poured from the designated Super Bowl growler into an IPA glass, Went with a PA beer since I have never had it, and more importantly, the last time the Pats won the Super Bowl they beat Philly. Not sure that makes any sense, but that is what I am going with.

A - A murky amber with orange highlights. A one and half finger head that move to a thin lace expediently.

S - Mangoes and grapefruit. Some mild dankness.

T - Tropical fruit mainly mango and pineapple. Some piney hops, with a dollap of malt balance.

M - Carbonation fairly low, moutheel average.

O - Simcoe. Love the aroma, good hop/malt balance, and the heat is well hidden.

Like drinking toffee/bread/ass with little so so hops. Way too malty.

A bit unbalanced, and nothing special about the hop profile.

Darker than most DIPA's, the hazy copper colour sports a slightly tan, rocky head with great retention for the style. Lots of particles floating around, but the beer is pretty cloudy without them.

The nose definitively informs you that you're in for a pretty dank and piney experience, but is countered by a nice burst of orange zest, grapefruit, and a decent dose of tropical mango. The caramel and bread-y malt aromas deliver a great balance of sweetness.

Taste is definitively more on the bitter, resinous side, but is rounded out by the sweet grassy and tropical fruit flavours of late-boil Simcoe additions. As it warms up the bitterness becomes less pronounced throughout. The caramel and toasty malt aspects come forward, maintaining a slightly dry, but smooth, and well-balanced body/finish.

The alcohol is also very well-hidden, lending itself to the dry grapefruit as well as the toasty malt flavours. Thanks Chris!

Fairly hazy copper, with a full, lingering cream head. Floaties are evident.

Aroma is sweet with caramel malt, then slightly resiny and piney. Malt definitely dominates.

Flavor is dank and resiny, with notes of citrus and a big punch of fresh cut grass. The finish is bitter, savory, and resiny. The sweetness of malt promised in the aroma surfaces early, but is overtaken in the finish. Grapefruit becomes more evident as it warms.

A little more bitter than I prefer, and simcoe isn't my favorite hop, but it's a well crafted brew.
