Enjoyed this 12oz bottle out of a pint glass.

A: Pours a cloudy orange-brown with a white 2-finger head that slowly dissipates leaving a nice trail down the side of glass ending in a wispy lace..

S: Extremely hoppy aroma with citrus and some grassy herbal notes.

T: Very bitter and hoppy brew – with a citrus and pine mix – that finishes clean and dry.

M: Medium body and carbonation.

O: Solid double ipa – A nice sipping beer @ 9% abv. Love the simcoe hops!

12 oz.

Pours a cloudy orange brown.

Smells of strong pine resin hops and some grapefruit citrus.

Tastes of caramel, apple sweetness, pine hop resin, grapefruit, and some floral hop balance.

Full body with bubbly carbonation on the roof of the mouth.

A well balanced hoppy potent ale. Holds its strength pretty well, you feel it more as it goes. Good strong hoppiness but manages not to be too bitter. Good beer to enjoy slowly, another winner from Weyerbacher.

12oz bottle poured into a tulip. Bottled 080712.

A: Body is a much darker amber than I’m used to for this style. But it’s crystal clear and very pretty. No haze at all. Developed a nice white head that left lacing from top to bottom.

S: Awesome hops. Tons of citrus. Grapefruit and tangerine. Not much overpowering malt sweetness that you often get with a strong DIPA.

T: TONS of flavor...and not one-dimensional. Bitter citrus hops start the wave and then it has a multilayered bready, sweet and alcoholic malt profile. Rich and luxurious but not overpowering.

M: Body is medium to full. Average carb.

O: Didn’t blow my face off, but did stand out with the amount of complexity it showed. From a technical point of view, there were a some indications that this was an exceptionally crafted beer. I'll have another.

12oz bottle into a goblet.

Pours a hazy dark brownish-orange with a thin soapy head. No head retention and barely any lacing.

Aroma is unmistakably simcoe; smells like a litterbox. Not repulsive but it is really hard to detect any malt whatsoever. PIny hops with a little bit of citrus.

Same piny flavor right away on the taste. Also extreme sweetness. Just a tiny bit of caramel malt underneath but the hops overwhelm. Bitterness is high but overshadowed by the sweetness. Finish is very sticky with hop flavor lingering.

Overall, a very one-dimensional IIPA and way too sweet. I know these beers are supposed to be over the top but I still expect some sort of balance between malt and hops. This is just a sugar bomb with some hops thrown in. Not something I will pick up again.

I didn't read the label that said "Double" IPA when I bought it. Instantly, after the first sip, I said to myself, "This must be a IIPA. Low and behold, I looked at the label, and much to my instinct, I was pleasantly surprised.

Awesome beer... Bready with a plethora of hops. There is an abundance of fruity Simcoe hops. Can't miss it. The aroma packs a punch, as well as the taste. The hops are not overly bitter by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, I think this beer has an ideal malt-to-hop ratio.

Very happy with this beer. Rating is worth around 4.25 IMHO... :D
A- Dark Copper/Amber, huge 4-5 finger head from an extremely fresh bottle. Frothy slight-tan head showing small bubbles at the top with medium-sized bubbles lower on the head. Awesome lacing...
S- Fruity Simcoe hops with a sweet malt presence
T- Very SWEET bready/caramel malt that is slightly syruppy. Heavenly hops that aren't overbearing.
M- Medium/full body (IIPA body as it feels thicker than IPA), not watery, STICKY sweetness
O- Very Good beer (although not "excellent"), will drink again in the future. Not too soon as I have many others in line after this one.

If I'm in the mood for a sweet fruity DIPA in the future, this is the beer. If I'm more interested in a drier beer without the sticky sweetness, this beer would not be a first choice.

Thank you Jayhoop!

Appearance. Pours a very deep amber-orange with a very thin white head.

Smell. Yellow grapefruits and sweet caramel malts. There's some nice bready yeast and maybe just a little dank nugs ;-)

Taste. Resinous grapefruit hops, some of that sweet caramel malt I smelled.

Mouthfeel. Medium+ body, below medium carbonation.

Overall. Nice hop bomb. I liked it.
