Large bottle split with Stopper.
Poured at cellar temp into a snifter the beer pours a dark brwon hue with no light passing through the glass. A think tan head fades to an edge layer rapidly and leaves a few scattered islands in its wake.
Aroma is robust with plums, brown sugar and molasses, some general booze shows up as well. Definitely a complexe and robust nose.
First sip reveals a smooth texture with fine rolling carbonation and a little stickyness on the lips after each sip. Flavor is as the nose advertises, complex, malty and robust, with brown sugar, roast malt, plums and a dose of booze on the finish. Not any hop presence to speak of anywhere. A nice sipper brew that is complex and easy to pay attention to as you work through the bottle.
