I shared a 12 ounce bottle with a beer buddy. We poured into tulips.
A: It poured a cloudy orangeish-golden body with a 1-2 finger off-white head. Head receded fast and there was limited, clumping lacing.
S: It had a sweet malt profile with lots of white and light fruit (pears, apricots).
T: It had a nice balance of flavors with sweet lightly toasted malts up front and a heavy dose of syrupy fruit flavors (apricots, pears and oranges). It finished with a peppery hops bite on the back side. The alcohol was well hidden and warming.
M: It was medium bodied with moderate carbonation and a thick, sticky presence on the tongue. It finished clean and warm.
D: It is a bit thick and heavy for a tripel but the complexity and balance makes it a drink to admire. It would make a difficult session beer but a fantastic sipper. Worth having in the stash.
