served from 12 oz. bottle...
pours a bright tan color with lots of cloudiness. whoo, there's A LOT of yeast sediment in the bottle. i leave it out of the glass -- the beer is already plenty cloudy as is.
anyway, this is a phenol monster. delicious herbal, grassy flavor gives way to monster clove/nutmeg/coriander flavors from the yeast. there's a very slight tartness at the back of all the phenols that i really do like. nice mouthfeel -- not too slick or chunky. very crisp and lively, even though it didn't have a huge head.
overall, a very good example of a belgian tripel. very solid and traditional -- nothing wacky or unexpected, but a well-made beer.
