HOLY GRAIL of liquor stores in Orlando, FL, alongside of Knightly Spirits, these are the places to hit. Huge cooler selection and equally as big warm section.

They have one of the best selections in Central Florida. You can find some good rare stuff and their Belgian selection is very good. Half the time, the guy working the counter doesn't know anything about craft beer so don't expect to get help with recommendations. But hey, that's what BA is for.

Per the high rating in BA, I went to Big Cs for some craft beer for Thanksgiving. I am from Boston and my parents live in Orlando,

Place was a bit hard to find, and when I found it, it was small liquor store, stuff rammed everywhere.

They do have a huge selection of beer, but much of it was very dusty and old. They had a 12 pack of Point beer in the cooler from summer 2012. Many of the other bottles had lots of dust, though I didn't check all the dates, it just looked old. The guy behind the counter didn't know anything.

Bigger selection than ABC, but old and not a nice store. I wouldn't recommend.

I used to live literally .25 miles away from this place and while I was there they had an ok selection of craft beer. Went back a couple of months ago and my oh my how things have changed! They now carry a HUGE selection, some stuff I have never seen in FL. The only down side to me is that they are often over-priced. For example, they had Evil Twin's Yin and Yang for a whopping $8/per 12 oz bottle! The Total Wine by my job had them for $3 a piece. Not cool.

Big C is right down the street from where I work, and I'm just bummed I didn't find it earlier. Unless someone told you about it, you'd never think to go into it to find craft beer. When you first enter, you're immediately hit with loud rap music and a ton of crap liquor. Navigate your way to the back though, and you enter a hidden world of beer awesomeness. They have a great selection of domestic and imported brew. Whether you're looking for the latest BA, DIPA, or Abbey ale, or just a cold 4pk of DFH, they have it all. They get limited quantities though, so you have to get there fast. As far as service is concerned, unless you see a guy with great side burns behind the counter, don't bother asking for recommendations. If he is there though, chat him up. Great dude. Super knowledgeable.

After reading these reviews I sort of knew what to expect but was still actually surprised when I came around the corner of the store and saw that import singles isle. ~25ft long and 4-5 rows high, packed full of single bottles, both small and 750l organized by country and style.

I went in looking for Belgians and Trappist brews on this trip and they had most all of them in stock.

They also have lots of cool gift boxes with beer and chalices, odd unusual brews you don't see anywhere else and a massive cooler full of cold 6 packs and 12 mix packs from the major craft brewers.

Of course they also have regular liquor and wine.

It nice knowing now that I don't have to drive all the way over to Knightly or Total Wine every time I want good imports. I can add one more place to the tiny list of beer store choices we have here in OrBlando

I visit Big C's everytime Im near. Its tucked away in a shopping center right of University Boulevard and Goldenrod. First of all, just before you get to the beer wall, there is a small display rack full of all different styles of premium beer glasses. Best news is they are all only $2.99. Now on to the beer, they have at least 300 diffent breweries stocked there. Everything from the Bruery, to Brewdog. Really too many to keep rambling on about. As for prices, they are great. Extremely reasonable. I would say THE only negative thing about this store is the clerks never seem to know much about beer. Who cares though. I know exactly the stuff Im looking for.

I recently found this place and was amazed. There are a few beers out there I've been looking for (rare Dogfish Heads, rare Unibroue, Cantillon, Fantome) in the Orlando region and I wasn't able to find any until I found this place.

There are two long rows(one shelf and one cooler) so it doesn't appear at first that there is an impressive selection but once you start looking at the bottles, you will be pleased...it doesn't matter who you are. anyone will find something to buy here. bring lots of money!

This is a great little diamond in the rough. Walking into the liquor store one would have no idea the treasures within. Their beer selection is extensive and has a great diversity of american and import. The prices are reasonable and for the most part on par with other stores.

I am equal distances away from both Big C Liquor and Total wine and I would say have to say it's a toss of the coin. Both have their strengths and weaknesses so it really is just what you feel like doing.

They also seem to have a good selection of wine and liquor. So if you want more than just good beer, this store has you covered.

First time goin to Big C last night.

First of all, you should know there is no sign indiciating it to be Big C Liquors. It only says 'Liquors' on the sign. It is right between Tijuana Flats (listen for the drunk college kids getting stupid on bad Mexican food) and Winn Dixie.

The kids who were workin there when I went in were actually pretty obnoxious. They were chattering away in the front, didn't greet me when I came in, didn't offer any assitance.

The beer selection, however, is nothing short of amazing. They have more singles than any store I've been in here in Orlando. The cooler is ridiculous too, full of a wide variety of micro brews and imports. Lots of big beers on the shelf at room temp. They also had Hopslam, some Terrapin limited release stuff, Allagash, T'Smijie, and lots lots more. I spent a measly $22 and got a decent six pack, three singles and two 22 oz bombers, one of them an Allagash Grand Cru.

If you know what you're looking at and what you're looking for, Big C rocks. If you need customer service to have a good experience, I wouldn't count on it.

Only been here once but was quite impressed. It's an unassuming place in a faceless strip mall, but the selection inside is where it shines. A nice selection of Belgians, which is always the first thing I'm looking for. IPAs through the roof as well. Not so many American micros but lots and lots of imports. One cool thing is that, if the beer is good enough, they post the RateBeer grade underneath it (sorry BA).

Service leaves something to be desired though, as the staff was not very helpful with my questions, and exuded a strange attitude of apathy toward myself and my girlfriend, who also had her own beer-queries. Perhaps they were having a bad day.

Worth a visit if you are in the Winter Park area.

This was the place I went to to find the rare or hard to find imported beers. Their Belgian selection is always great, and so are their American micros. I can't remember what it was, but I remember getting a 750ml from Allagash(?) that was oak-aged and limited edition and had a cinnamon, syrupy feel for $17. If only I had known about this site then, I'd have written a review. For those who live in Winter Park/Orlando and may have become accustomed to going to Total or ABC for imported beer, this place has stuff those places will never carry.

I’ve been traveling a lot this year and using the site to find great beer while away from home, I joined today just to review this store. I was completely overwhelmed by the selection and had a hard time deciding what to get. They had a huge selection in the cooler and opposite had an outstanding selection of warm beer. The variety of Belgian beer was one of the best I’ve ever seen.

As mentioned before it’s tucked away in a very unappealing strip mall and easy to find. I was fortunate to be staying in a hotel about 5 miles away, near the UCF campus. The quick little drive was well worth the time. The store was clean and the selection was neatly displayed and easy to view.

I highly recommend this store for anyone who appreciates good beer.

Finally visited Big C and I have to say..."Hey not bad." They aren’t Knightly Spirits good (selection wise), but they have some laudable selections. Had DFH 120 singles when I was there plus Nieuw Ligt Grand Cru ($10.99 a bottle and I had to get one) and a few others I was tempted to pick up. The Belgian selections are solid and they tend to bring in more than a few special orders. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area and they seem to be very beer savvy. There are shelf talkers on most of the beers and the manager is fairly into beer.

Stopped here while in Orlando to try to find some stuff I can't get up in the midwest. They had a nice selection, with lots of single bottles on the shelves and lots of six packs in the coolers. The focus seemed to be on international beers, especially Belgians, but there was a decent selection of American microbrews. There wasn't much from the South (not that Florida is know for it's breweries), but the guy at the counter pointed out some singles from Dunedin Brewery. Prices were pretty decent, and overall this place had a much larger selection than the other stores I visited in central Florida.

Big C Liquors has as good a selection of craft beers as you are likely to find in Central Florida and is well worth a visit if you are in the area, as I was today on my way to the Costco just up the road.

Most of the usual suspects are available Sierra Nevada, Rogue, Unibroue, Avery, etc and today I picked up a couple of bottles of my favourite Ommegang products, Three Philosophers and Abbey Ale, which I thought were very reasonably priced at $4.99 a piece.

I also picked up a J W Lees Harvest Ale $5.99, which I've not spotted elsewhere so far, and a Thomas Hardy Ale $4.99 as a single. I've only ever seen the Thomas Hardy in a 4 pack before for $18.50, and never wanted to shell out that much before on something untried, so at least I can now sample it (even if I am now paying more for the individual bottle) and determine if an investment in the 4 pack is for me. Beer stores that do lots of singles = Good Beer Stores. I also bought an Ommegang goblet for $3, in honour of the fact that they are currently my favourite brewery.

Service here was pleasant, if unobtrusive. Definitely a positive recommendation from me.

I am EXTREMELY fortunate to live about 7 minutes away from Big C Liquor store over by the University of Central Florida. Like others have said, from the outside this place does not look like anything special. Inside, it is a beer lover's paradise. The selection is absolutely wonderful! They have a HUGE selection of singles and sixers for reasonable prices. The only reason I scored service a bit lower is because on occasion you will have people working in there with absolutely no knowledge of a lot of the craft beers in there. If you go during the day however, you should not have a problem. Not a big deal because everybody I have encountered has at least been friendly.

While pulling into Tijuana Flats to eat (Do NOT go there! Bad taco bell with beer), I saw a liquor store next to it with the sign to this store (450 beers). I knew I would have to check it out, and was not disappointed.

They did have several long isles of warm brew, and a long wall of coolers for cold – much more was devoted to craft versus macro. They carry quite a stock of bombers, too – so I loaded up several big beers of barley wine, imperial stocks, and double IPAs for the trip home to STL. They did carry quite a selection of glasses for purchase also.

I didn’t know about this site, I had only looked under Orlando and followed the reviews there.

I had occasion to visit Orlando on Business and saw this place while viewing Beerfly. The reviewers noted some beers that I had not tried were available so I knew I was going to try and get there. I was not disappointed I scored some great brews and some cool glassware at a reasonable price. I found the prices to be very reasonable and the selection awesome. And six different Belgian Glasses for 24 bucks? Woo Hoo. I found the staffer helpful and courteous. A great beer store in an off the wall location. While you are there Keller's Barbecue is just a few strides away and serves up some wonderful Barbecue.

At the corner of Goldenrod and University in the Winn Dixie shopping plaza. This place really doesn't look like much from the outside, it would be easy to miss. Definitely one of the better selections by far that I've seen anywhere in Florida (I still have to check out Knightly). Always interesting beer here, quite a few Belgians, as well as other imports and a number of imports that I just haven't seen anywhere before to my recollection. I've bought Old Engine Oil, Uerige Altbier, Dogfish Olde School, Old Growler, Zywiec Porter, Okocim Porter, Great Divide Oak Aged Yeti and probably a few more the last couple times I was here. Interesting selection of lambics (not really a fan myself), good English beers, definitely a decent selection of micros, including Avery, Great Divide, Rogue, Dunedin, etc., etc. I guess what I'm saying is they have a really interesting selection of beer. Not the best beer selection I've ever seen (I reallly like some of the Binny's stores and Sam's near the Goose Island pub in the Chicago area - best selections I've ever seen), but infinitely far ahead of most stores in Florida. A note on service, it was excellent today, but weekends may be less so in my experience.

After reading about Big C here on the site, I trekked over this weekend, and it was well worth it. About a 15-20 minute drive from Sanford, Big C is in the Winn Dixie plaza on the corner of University and Goldenrod.

If you like Belgian beers (my favorite), this is your store. I've never seen such a quality selection of Belgians in Florida. I prefer to drink 750s of tripels and such, so I had a hard time narrowing things down. I found a lot of beers that I can't find anywhere else in central Florida - Allagash Tripel, Three Philosophers, Gouden Carolus, Rare Vos, etc. Also, the prices are real fair. A 750 of Hennepin for under $5! Also, I think I paid about $7 for a 750 of Duvel. Also, if you need some proper glasses, they've got those too for around $3.

And last but not least, they support beeradvocate.com as noted by the sign on the front register.

I'll be shopping at this fine establishmnet for many years to come.

I live about 10 minutes away from this establishment, which is lucky for me. Once I started to get interested in craft beers I made a point to try to visit as many different liquor stores in the area as I could and to keep an eye out for interesting beer. I heard about Big C from a friend and also through this site, and I can honestly say they have the best selection of beer available in the Orlando area. If they don't have it, it probably isn't distributed here.

The staff is usually pretty helpful. I think someone else said they would like a beer lover to be on staff at all times. Not trying to knock against him, but I don't really think that is feasible. I've taken some time to get to know the staff a little, and while they may not all be blessed with a wealth of beer knowledge, they are all very helpful. And some of them DO know their shit. Show up on the right day, and you will be rightly impressed. Hell, show up at any time of the day or night, and I'm sure whoever is on staff can give you some recommendations, or at least demonstrate more knowledge about beer than you'd get from other liquor stores.

And that brings me to my one big disclaimer. East orlando is a college town, and Big C is minutes away from the UCF campus, which is obviously swarming with college students. I'm sure Big C makes the vast majority of their profits catering to this crowd. In fact, if you didn't know any better you would probably just assume it is another runofthemill liquor store (one of the reasons I took so long to check the place out.) So you will encounter: typical liquor store customers, typical college students wanting to get wasted, typical skater kids hanging out outside asking you to buy them alcohol, etc etc etc... don't expect too many kindred spirits, beer lovers. Big C however, is not a typical liquor store, they have beer, A LOT of beer.
