Stoudt's Fest: A marzan from Stoudts, poured out of a thwelve ounce bottle. Not much head, despite a fairly vigorous pour. Nice deep tan/amber color. Fairly clear, with just a bit of haze. The aroma is very strong, smoky caramel aroma. The taste is exceptional for a marzan, very flavorful, very refreshing. Bright tastes, nicely rolling caramel, bready, rye malt tastes, not much aftertaste due to a nice bite of the hops. Crisp and sparkling carbonation. Very nice.

From my brother. He stocks up with this beer where he lives in PA and I think buys two full cases of it. Only beer he seems to 'swear by'. Yeah, my February PA visits I usually find him still drinking the previous Autumn's batch.
Anyways, for me, I poured my bottle into a glass mug.
The appearance was a nice looking slightly muddied gold color. Topped by a slim off white cap of a head. Mild semi-stringy lace.
The aroma had some sweet biscuits melding with some German yeast sweet toastiness. Some white bread.
The flavor leaned towards the sweet side of those malts. Slight earthy nuttiness. Then a mild aftertaste of honey, white bread and pretzels.
The mouthfeel between light and medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Good carbonation and some stickiness but with a nice smoothness. Finishes malty crisp and pushes away any possible cloying characters.
Overall, pretty good O-fest. I'd have again.
