Looks nice, creamy, no head. Smell ok, basically as expected. Taste is good, yeast, wheat, some citris bite on the aftertaste. Mouthfeel is thick, creamy. Decent drinkability, better for warm days IMO. This is my fist hefeweizen review. I like the style and this is probably a standard good example. Decent beer from a decent brewer. Would happily drink again.

Poursa lighter yeloow with a light haze lighter head for a weizen as well, aroma is clovey and a little mineral tinge to it.Taste was lemony with some nice spiciness to it but where is the banana flavors the bottle says are in there? That being said this is a decent brew and incredably easy to drink even for the drinkable style.I would get a gain on a hot summer day.

A lighter color weizen, closer to a whitbier. Minimal head like a whitbier, too. Normal hefe scent - wheaty, citrus, yeast. There's not too much to say about this one. A textbook weizen, across the board. Its refreshing, its good, but there's nothing special about it to differentiate it from 1,000 other local microbrew hefeweizens.

Big bottle that is now almost obsolete due to their new bottling, grabbed a whole buncha goodies after the Stoudt's fest on June 12th. (well, stumbled over the next morning to grab em'!)
Very cloudy and pale golden, looks like a long island iced tea (not that I drink that crap, just look at others over my pints!) Amazing aroma of yeast, banana, chardonnay, spiceyness (maybe a cinnamon or nutmeg?) Very nice and crisp scent! First taste I get sassafrass! So very light and refreshing... not heavy, but enough body to keep me happy. Incredibly drinkable. The lemon wedge I pop into it just brings out the flavors even more, makes them even more pronounced. (I love a lemon in my wheats, feel it just adds to the experience) Sat out back sippin this with my beer bud, and we actually noticed a major taste difference between my pint with the wedge squeezed into it, and his with a slice just-a-floating, and I dont mean a citrus taste... the one without the squeeze of the lemon had more bananna scent to it, the one with the squeeze had more intensity of flavor- much more excitement going on in it. This is just a great drinking beer, full of flavors and scents, just so very enjoyable!

Ah...this is the lawnmower beer I've been looking for...thanks for the treat Buckspin.
Pours a golden color w/ less than a half finger of bright white head...disappears very quickly and has no lace.
For the style, a decent amount of scents hit the nose...some banana, but more spice than anything w/ just a hint of citrus hop.
Taste is great...juicy cloves w/ that banana flavor on the back end.
Very subtle malt sweetness in the finish...mouthfeel is average and the carbonation is right on the money.
Could easily drink a number of these on a summer afternoon...another fine offering from Carol and the folks at Stoudt's.

This is from the Stoudt's Variety case I got at the Beer Mart. I drank it in a pilsner glass. Expiry date is on the bottle. (YAY!)
Pours a hazy, not cloudy, banana yellow with a one finger head of white bubbles. The head quickly drops to islands and a ring, with intermittent splotches of lacing. Looks pretty effervescent.
Very nice smells of bananas and cloves, spices like black pepper and a nice touch of wheat. Smells clean, with a hint of spicy hops.
Flavor is light bananas and cloves, nice tart wheat and citrusy lemons. Good level of residual sugar makes this not too sweet. I wouldn't mind having more hefe characteristics, this seems just a little light. There is a noticeable slight hop spiciness to this which is pleasant. Aftertaste is pretty sweet bananas, cloves, and wheat.
Mouthfeel is fairly sweet, with a medium level of carbonation. Matbe more carbonation would perk this up a bit. Great burps! Finish is a really yummy sweetness.
Overall, this is a good hefe. It would be a good introduction to the hefeweizen style for people who have never tried one. It has the banana and clove thing and the tart wheat thing. If it had more, it could have the world class thing...
I like this hefe, but it could be alot more.

Appears: Unfiltered cloudy orange sunrise otne with a short lived white creamy head. Nice patches of lacing form with each sip. Aroma: Nice clove and vanilla, some banana and citrus tones thrown in sharp wheat sweetness. Taste: Very tame but amazingly drinkable and smooth the clove and vanilla flavors are mild but the citrus sharpness cuts through overall great summer brew in fact Mad Mex has been selling it as their summer Big B Haus Summer Ale. Mouthfeel: Not as fluffy or spritzy as most German Hefes but overall medium body great session brew can't ask for much more. Drinkability: Is solid all around but I prefer more flavorful versions of the style, overall a great session in the heat of summer.

Appearance: A hazy yellow body. The head is a wispy white foam, but unfortunately it did stay long.
Smell: Banana and yeast are the backbone here, but there are some cloves present.
Taste: The yeast is the background but there are bananas present in the background with some vanilla. The cloves are present in the finish.
Mouthfeel: The carbonation balances the yeastiness and allows for a very nice mouthfeel.
Drinkability: Another great summer beer.

Initially yeasty - what was that. And a pour and a head! and the wheat and barley. Then the thin watery element made itself evident. Nice aroma. Altogether refreshing in summer, though not wholly satisfying. Quaffable. Light cloves, suitable carbonation.

Cloudy, yellow gold with a big bright white head that holds well but could possibly do better. It does, however, leave a good collar and a slightly whispy head across the surface as very fine bubbles from natural carbonation stream quickly to the surface. The aroma is sweet, with a good dose of bubblegum, light clove, and a limited banana... a good level of esters! The body is medium/light and the mouthfeel is soft with a tingle on the tongue. The flavor is quite rich: sweetly malty with a solid clove note, and a very low bitterness level. The finish leaves a gently lingering malt sweetness with a bit of banana & clove, and a little spice on the tongue. A very rounded, fully flavored, and satisfying weizen. Exceptional.

Serving Type: 5 oz. taster
A: murky, slightly pinkish yellow, served with a lemon (could have done without this as other people in my group were served draughts without it)
S: cloves, dominate the nose, banana in background, sweet overall
T: banana, pulls through first, stronger than its aroma presence, very tasty
M: cereal like graininess, medium light body, dry finish

A pint at the Standard Tap
A tasty hefe that reminds me of Victory's Mad King Weiss. The aroma and flavor focus on clove spice with a hint of orange. The body is a touch heavy for the flavor and lower alcohol. There's a mellow, sweet malt flavor in the background and this comes off a bit like an amber ale.

Pasty yellow hue, hazy (if not cloudy), the thick white head faded to half size rather quickly but the rest had admirable retention very little lacing though, disappointing. Soft nose, pleasant mix of bubblegum, banana, clove and other little complexities (nice funky yeastiness). Inviting. The palate is immensely refreshing what an overwhelming sensation of oh yeah after the first sip. The carbonation is near perfection! The flavor profile is tasty but subdued again there is a pleasant mix of banana, very faint clove, bubblegum, wheat, citrus, pepper, a touch of sweetness, tartness in the middle great faint herbal bitterness at the finish, plenty crisp. Medium bodied. Very drinkable. This a damn nice Wheat Beer dare I say authentic Hefeweizen? Yes! Finally proof that an American brewer can make one. Recommend.

Pours a very bright cloudy golden color with a pure white head that dissipated into a light cap. The aroma is of banana, pepper/clove, with light lemon and tart apple. The taste is of banana and a slight lemon twang. Definitely resembles a Bavarian Hefe (a positive) as opposed to an American Wheat, however it is a touch watery. The feel is fairly light, again a bit watery, with tingly carbonation with a slightly astringent finish. Good job by Stoudt's making this taste like a Bavarian hefe, however it falls a touch short on flavor and feel. Still good and is very drinkable.

Poured from 12 oz bottle to a weizen glass. the liquid is a pale yellow with Nice carbonation. The head is 2 fingers plus, Big and white.
The Smell it soft and fruity, some banana and cloves.
The taste is nice very good, Banana clove taste is good, even a slight bubble gum after taste.
The mouthfeel is thin, good carbonation. ok body.
the drinkability in good. I would drink this if there was not so much good Bavarian Hefe around. Prosit MK

A very light Weizen this year with none of the citrus or clove character as in years past. The beer is thin in body with a nice Belgian lace but not much else.. the flavor was lacking and seems that possibly just a bad batch or maybe the first of the season.

Appearance: Golden clear with champagne-like bubbles, small froth that laced my glass.
Smell: Great banana esters, wheaty, maraschino cherry sweetness on the nose.
Taste: For such a lively looking brew, the carbonation felt very light. Tasted like a banana split sprinkled with Wheaties, truely the breakfast of champions! Mouthfeel is crisp and dry, I enjoyed this one.

Appearance: The ale is a hazy deep yellow color with a big head that leaves a great deal of lace.
Smell: This is one of the few American hefes that gives an authentic clove-banana aroma and I like it very much.
Taste: The wheat malt provides for a smooth base that is very flavorful. Add to that the yeast and the bananas and cloves that it brings and you have a beer that tastes very good.
Mouthfeel: The ale is soft and airy, leaving a great deal of flavor without the heaviness of other styles.
Drinkability: A very good candidate for a German session beer.

The beer pours light orange/yellow with a small head which goes away quickly. When pouring the beer, it sounded like I was pouring some soda because of the fizzyness of the carbonation. The aroma is of wheat, bananas and cloves. It tastes the same way, except for the additional taste of lemon. Mouthfeel is light but there's just a little too much carbonation, I think a little less carbonation would improve the beer. Even then, the brew still goes down pretty smooth, and it is a very drinkable beer. This wouldn't be a bad session beer.

Appearence: Pours a semi-clear cloudy yellowish copper with a nice, bleach white head that thins to a collar.
Smell: The smell is a pleasent wheat smell with an odd, medicine like astringency in the back.
Taste and Mouthfeel: The taste is a kinda unimpressive mix of wheat and medicine. It tastes fake, and more like a bland lager than a wheat beer. As it warms, the taste gets more and more unappealing, leaving a foul aftertaste. Hte mouthfeel is thin and slick.
Drinkability and Overall: Wheat beers can be some of the best beers in the world, and this one doesn't stack up compared to other examples. Usually Stoudt's is a very quality brewery, but this one dissapointed.

An outdated brew, so that is certainly being taken into consideration.
A: Straw coloured with a golden hue. Head is quite fizzy and leaves just a trim of lacing.
S: Clove aromas, quite a full yeasty scent. A pale malt, inviting and pleasant, though a little one-dimensional
T: Again, cloves are taking the forefront on this. Hops seem quite diminished... an expected citrus hoppiness isn't there. Still alright nonetheless.
M + D: Soft, refreshing... and sparkling. The body does seem a touch full for a hefe, but still a decent, enjoyable brew. A reasonable sessioner, and worth looking into for an afternoon out with good company.

Poured a cloudy dark straw hue with a two finger pillowy white head. There was good retention and lacing.
The smell featured a solid yeasty aroma with significant banana and bubblegum aromas.
The taste consisted of a good wheaty flavor with some sour yeast and a touch of vanilla.
The mouthfeel was a bit in the thin side, albeit chewy.
Overall a good American Hefe. Notthe best out there, but tasty nonetheless.

Sweet wheat smell. Cloudy white/yellow look with a creamy white head. It lasts (the retention) for a while but not forever. The taste is of yeast and clove. Clean fresh finish.. not as mouth as I anticipated by its appearence. The brew is a solid wheat selection for summer drinking. You are also left with a thick malt coating of the tongue and throat which also has a banana clove as well. Worth a try if you are a "wheat head" if not get the tripel instead.. trust me...
