Extremely dark, near opaque black and topped milky coffee colored head. Good finger thick that settles to a respectable lace with stick. Roasted aroma with earth and soft sherry and paper. Smooth and thick mouthfeel, viscous, full-bodied. Sharp-ish light acrid astringency and sherry-like flavor strikes the palate at first, some tannins, sweet black coffee, light fruits, cola, spicy alcohol, powdery light chocolate, paper, thinned underlying bitterness with a touch of rawness. A tasty brew with a lot going on. Interesting and complex, but still very approachable.
