Pours a slightly hazy golden orange with lemon tints. Soon it turns perfectly clear as it warms. A thin layer of bubbles form, but that's it. No lace.
Aroma is strongly ripe bananas, overpowering making it a bit one-sided. But there is a light spiciness, sugar sweetness and a little alcohol to find.
Flavor has a floral sweetness that becomes a little tart before giving way to a musty, sharp bitterness. The finish has a bit of harshness, a ripe sweetness and a lingering heat.
Carbonation is almost criminally low but the body is nice.
First impression wasn't great, but it opens up as it warms.

There's something odd about this beer that makes it different than a classic Triple.
Maybe it tastes "Americanized?" Is the best way to describe it?
It is still a fantastic beer in to itself. Good taste, nice alcohol content and a good finish.
It's just not my favorite domestic Tripel.

Me, I dig the Trappist ales most. I remain a stout fan but a decent Tripel or Quad... for this European-American, that’s the best one can get. Contrast it with American hop trash and the cynical lumpen who probably just want to FEEL something and I think it speaks volumes about the quality of a man.
Of course this beer was not brewed by Merton’s squad but it clearly mimics the style and does so fairly well. Not quite Weyerbacher’s Quad in the not Trappist but trying hard style but awesome. The typical rundown is unnecessary because many here will simply go out and buy some lip puckering bullsh*t and believe they are sophisticated in so doing. Anyone remember when we spoke of bitter beer face? These cats have found a way to merge that expression with the soy face and TRUMPet the end times, where we strive for any connection with our emotions and each other.
This beer is golden beauty rich sweet spicy fruit boozy Americana. Roosevelt would have enjoyed it. “I know you’re listening, get down with this, b*tch, whistle along.”

Poured into a chalice: color is hazy gold, low head but some lacing, off white in color.
Smell is fruity, spicy, light booziness, solid belgian qualities.
Taste is similar with fruity flavors of apple and apricot, spice is light pepper, some mild boozy esters.
Mouthfeel seems to start a little sweet, but as it warms there is a bit more dryness, biting quality.
Overall a good, almost great beer, a little less sweetness and more belgian yeast flavor would make it better.

This was poured into a chalice. The appearance was a hazy burnt yellow to orange color with a slim finger’s worth of white foaminess that dissipated within less than thirty seconds. No lacing. The smell had a sweet to lightly spiced "iced apples" with a slight crisp citrus coming in underneath. Light spice of coriander opens up and rounds out the aroma. The taste was mainly balanced between the sweet and the spice leaving a sweet fruity aftertaste leading into a wet sticky sweet fruity finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Alcohol seems to be well hidden adding a light carbonation gracing to allow a nice smooth sweet stickiness rolling over my tongue. Overall, it's a decent stab at the style, me, I didn't mind it personally.

Undated bottle at 42 degrees into a hand washed and dried snifter
Aroma – spicy and some fruity yeast esters
Head small (Maximum two cm, careful pour), white, creamy, diminishing to an irregular two tosix mm ring and partial monolayer
Lacing – none
Body medium orange, hazy (Bottle was stored on its side so sediment was stirred up.)
Flavor – spicy and fruity – no alcohol until it hits the stomach then the burn begins. Well balanced.
Palate medium, creamy, soft carbonation
I’m not usually a fan of triples but I’ll make an exception here. The aroma and flavor are both pleasing and reinforce each other, the alcohol burn is not overpowering, and the yeast does not add a mustiness I’ve found in many other triples.
Appearance 4, Aroma 4.25, Flavor 4.25, Palate 4, Overall 4

Not overly impressed with this one, head was on the weak side, light aroma and taste. I compare all tripels to Karmaliet, so it’s in some tough company. Decent but not outstanding.
