Let me preface this by saying that I don't have a lot of experience with Tripels... nor do I particularly enjoy Belgian style Ales - but I gave it a good hearted effort and I think I rated it pretty fairly.
The color is a nice amber... with a smooth, thin, white head...
the smell is very eclectic... floral, malty, spicy... almost wheaty...
The taste has a licorice or liquor quality to it... you can also taste the spice.
The drinkability is average... not a good session beer, but okay for one round.
I'll try a few other tripels, and maybe revisit this one.
