look: 3.75 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 3.5

Appearance: Poured a clear deep copper with a nice two finger head that fades quickly, leaving some decent white lacing on the sides of my glass.

Smell: Malt forward with caramel and amber malt coming to mind, a bit of a citrus and grassy note to it as well.

Taste: Bread, caramel, a bit of earth in there. Not a ton going on but solid taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a bready texture and decent creaminess.

Overall: A pretty good oktoberfest style here from Stoudt's. Wouldn't go out of my way to drink it but this isn't bad.

growler fill direct from the brewery, poured into a mug.

A- A beautifully clear copper, with a pillowly finger and a half of head. active carbonation. Very pretty

S- a very nice balance of caramel and bready malts, with an earthy hop as well.

T- Better than most of the American examples. Bready malts with a slight caramel tinge are balanced with an earthy/German hops. Not aggressively bitter, but just enough.

M- Nothing off-putting. Light to medium, fairly carbonated, and just a touch dry on the end.

O- This brew is much better on tap than out of the bottle. I love getting growler fills, but rarely buy a case of bottles.

Stoudts Oktober Fest has a thick, fluffy, off-white head, heavy, splotchy lacing, and a hazy, copper appearance with some streaming bubbles and a lot of suspended, tiny, white particles floating throughout. The aroma is sweet, toasty, bready, and caramel. Taste is similar, with even some hint of citrus in there. The hop bitterness is mild, but it does have enough presence to balance out the beer. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Stoudts Oktober Fest finishes dry, mellow, drinkable, and delicious. This is a wonderful beer, and I think you should check it out!
