look: 3.5 | smell: 2 | taste: 2.5 | feel: 2.5 | overall: 2.5

Appearance- amber to copper brownish, thin white lacing stayed, small amount carbonation streamed slowly,

Smell- mix of faint malt and hops not much at all going on

Taste- just very mild malt up front followed by alot of firm bitter hops behind, not complex in flavor and not all that interesting

Mouthfeel- medium bodied with slick carbonation

Drinkability/overall- this has to be the single worst interpretation of a dopplebock i have ever had with out any doubt, just saw off in the style its laughable, beyond that what every style you want to call its just plan out boring and simple, you can drink it but found myself truly not wanting to

12oz. bottle poured into a porter glass.

A- Beautiful. A deep, translucent amber, with a dense, fluffy off white head. Laces fantastically.

S- Bready, caramel malts with an earthy hop component. The hops work surprisingly well, and make for a really tasty interplay of malt and hops.

T- A nice, bready, caramel and cracker malt bill. Big lager yeast presence, and some mild dark fruit. Closes with some earthy hops that come off almost minty. Lightly bitter on the finish.

M- pretty thick, certainly feels like a doppel. A creamy character that I find on a lot of Stoudt's brews.

O- Looks fantastic, mouthfeel is pretty great as well. Smell Falls a bit short, and I could use a bigger hop presence, but it's pretty darn tasty.

Dark amber copper color with a thick beige head with eternal retention and leaving a wall of laces.
Sweet aroma of honey, vanilla and papaya.
Intense and predominant sweet flavor of peaches, toasted malts, herbs and spices, and bit of pine. Quite dry and bitter aftertaste.
Medium body with appropriate carbonation. Alcohol of 7.2% abv is well hidden.
Well executed Doppelbock with an American hoppy touch, nevertheless malt still predominates here, as it should.
