This beer stands out to me among the usual pleasant-but-forgettable everyday beers I have, so I chose it to be my first review back in a long time.

After drinking six of these, the most noticeable characteristic of this Pilsner is the sheer BITTERNESS. This is without a doubt the most bitter pils I have ever had. There's none of the usual "touch of sweetness" or "light-bodied" to be found here. This is a bold, strong, full-bodied, bitter pils.

The bitterness somewhat limits the drinkability, so having several of these in a row would be a bit too much to handle for most people. Stoudt's Pils isn't the best I've ever had (that honor goes to Troegs' Sunshine Pils) but it definitely takes a strong #2 position.

A-Yellow and honey-like color. Bubbles continually rise from the bottom to the surface keeping a small head.

S-Has a hint of honey.

T-The taste takes your mouth on a ride from bitterness to a smooth honey-like flavor.

M-Empty but fulfilling.

O-If you want a pilsner that has a decent flavor I would highly suggest this one.

A: Pours a clear golden color with rising bubbles to a bubbly white head. The head settles out quickly to a thin layer.
A: Clean pilsner malt, light biscuits, fresh grain husks, light vegetal notes and a spicy hop presence.
T: Light roasted malt, husky grains, flaky biscuits and some herbal and peppery hops round out this beer. Classic pilsner dry finish.
M: crisp carbonation and light body with a dry finish.
O: Great representation of the style. Can imagine my grandfather drinking beer like this back in his Homeland Germany. Goes down easy.

It is not a bad drink, but it is not what it claims to be. It tastes more like a pale ale than a pilsener. It is not a German pilsener, but more like a Sierra Nevada Pale. I like Stoudts products, but i do not like it when companies get so creative that they lose the intrinsic flavour of the type of beer they are wanting to produce.
