A refreshing German-style ale brewed using 2-row malt, a small amount of red wheat malt and German hops for bittering and aroma. This straw colored ale is smooth like a lager due to the colder fermentation temp and extended cellaring time. Dry and crisp with a subtle fruitiness which complements the mild hop bitterness and aroma.

12 oz bottle into a stange.

Pours a clear gold, with 3 fingers of foamy bright-white head. This retains with rich cap of froth, which leaves behind a spotty cascade of lacing that quickly slides down the sides of the glass. The aroma is fresh in the nose, with a bright smelling pop of lemon zest, citrus peel, light spice, grassy hops, and some toasted malt sweetness underneath. Fruit and hops really push to the front of the nose here.

The taste is equal parts sweet grains and fruit, with some bitter citrus and lightly spicy hops giving this some zip on the tongue. Finishes bitter and dry with some lingering spiciness. The mouthfeel is light-medium bodied, with a mellow and soft creaminess to the carbonation, which keeps this very easygoing on the palate and very quaffable.

This was very good for the style, and while it maybe lacked some of the vinous and yeasty fruit character that I normally like in the nose, it more than made up for it with a surprisingly complex flavor profile and super easy drinkibility. Just really quaffable and tasty stuff here, just in time for the summer season.

Excellent example of a Kolsch. Great for hot summer weather. Very thirst quenching.

12 oz bottle.

Attractive pale gold color with just the slightest bit of haze. Big, creamy white head with good retention thanks to lively carbonation. Light grainy malt aroma with a touch if fruit. Subtle yet balanced. Light herbal hop bite upon tasting. Lightly bitter, lightly sweet, soft and rounded. Medium-light bodied. Very clean, smooth, and crisp in the finish. Delicious!

A true to style Kölsch from Stoudts that is welcome in my fridge anytime.

a fine draft pint here, nothing particularly remarkable about it, but true enough to style and one of those beers that when its ice cold and fresh, its a four or five sip pint, max. for me, this is a big gulp, drink now, think never, kind of beer, refreshing and it tastes like beer, without a lot of body, a crisp lagered characteristic that i like in the style, just a little bit of crackery dry malt to let me know its a real beer, and a zippy carbonation despite it not having much of a head. an easy drinker, hot weather refresher that warrants little additional consideration. beers like this are great in the middle of a session of more bold and complex beers, not quite a palate cleanser, it does have some merit on its own, but just a simple and light beer that works in a number of contexts and is more or less agreeable to anyone who likes beer. i have not had much from these guys, and dont hear much about them out in colorado, but it was cool to taste this one while back east in PA. seems like a fairly common offering there. this is good enough to have me wanting to try their more ambitious offerings...

Outstanding! Pale and gentle of hops as you would expect. I am a fan of the style and this one is one I will stick in the fridge more often. Pennsylvania proud!

Picked this up at the brewery bar as part of a mixed six pack, probably $ 1.90 (Including tax) $ 0.158/oz
Bottle marked 12021634B21105 at 42 degrees into a hand washed and dried Sam Adams “Perfect Pint”
Aroma – wet grain, a hint of hops
Head – large (Maximum seven cm, aggressive pour), white, frothy, diminishing to a two mm ring and layer
Lacing - none
Body – straw, clear, initially loads of effervescence
Flavor – no malt flavor, just a hint of hops; no alcohol, no diacetyl
Palate – light, watery, slightly dry

Initially though I detected DMS in the first pour, but that was gone almost immediately. Overall, this is drinkable beer which I will neither seek out nor avoid.

I hesitated to rate this one because I suspected that it may have started to go bad (maybe it was stored badly or something).. It had a vaguely skunky smell, although the taste wasn't obviously so.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a bright straw color with a bigger, fluffier head than expected. Smell is faint but complex: hay, honey, yeast, spices, some bright citrusy notes. Taste is equally subdued. Lots of clean, crisp flavors of lemon, grass, and sweet malt flavors. Nothing really overwhelming or mind blowing on the palette. Feel is light with high carbonation, giving it a pleasantly prickly feeling. Finishes very dry and refreshing, with a little herbal aftertaste.

Head dependant upon diameter of glass and aggression of pour, thus a kolsch glass can easily reward you with a 3 finger head. Great carbonation & just a great summertime beer, crisp, clean & refreshing.
