Appearance is spun gold with an effervescent off-white going to beige head that dissipated slowly. Nose is of malt and caramel with a lightly frutiy (pear?) background. Taste is all about the malt and the alcohol. Slightly acidic tang on the front with a full malty and fruity middle and nicely balanced bitterness with a touch of alcohol on the back. First time I've tried this offering from Stoudt's and I highly recommend it as a fine example of a full-bodied German Maibock!

Prosit!

Thanks to ShanePB for this bottle.

A: Pours hazy light orange color with tints of gold in it. A 1.5 finger white foamy head forms upon pouring and has decent retention. Nice white lacing forms all around the glass.

S: Some bready malt, light citrus fruits, lemon, and a little bit of grain. Rather light.

T: A nice combination of light citrus fruit, honey, and some grainy malt. There is some bready malt on the backend. Finishes sweet.

M: Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Drinks smooth and rather easy.

O: A pretty good beer. Hoppier than others in the style I have had. Probably not something I would go to all the time, but could see it being nice on a hot day or paired with a salad actually.
