Homewrecker is a double strength India Pale Ale, meaning hop bitterness, flavor and aroma take center stage, with plenty of malt character to support it. Brewed with over half a ton of pale, wheat and caramel malts, we then add nearly 30 lbs of hops to make one 7 barrel batch. American Columbus, Simcoe, Centennial and Cascade are added at 6 different points in the boil. Then we strain the hot unfermented ber through raw hops to further extract flavor and aroma. Be careful though, we pushed this one past 10 percent alcohol, so if you start to hallucinate, quickly chug a Michelob Ultra to sober up.

A: Poured slowly into a Duvel tulip glass. Same beautiful head that its little brother "Professor Gesser" has. 2/3 of the glass is filled with cream-colored fluff and the bottom 1/3 is glowing orange. Carbonation speeds to the top and the head slowly (very slowly) recedes. Lacing holds on forever.
S: Mostly piney hops with highlights of sweet, tangy citrus (grapefruit?). Malt body is sweet and subtle. As it warms, a strong (unpleasant in my book) peppery scent starts to take over.
T: Well balanced flavor without too much sticking out to be noticed, except for that damn pepper! Piney hops in the finish do well to get rid pepper flavor.
M: Slightly syrupy. Carbonation is appropriate.
D: Drinks pretty well. The only thing slowing me down is that peppery smell/taste. Rumor has it the abv is around 10%. Doesn't seem that high at all.

Didn't find this to be particularly hoppy but there is some light pine, bitterness, honey and floral notes. The malt is well done and well structured with a barley, grain and tea leaf.
