Growler purchased at Party Town.

Pours a dark brown in color with some khaki, frothy head that forms on the pour. Very nice, at least two inches of foam.
Smell is dark roasted malts, just a hint of rye and then the beautiful and always welcomed bourbon, vanilla and oak. These guys at BBC have a knack for barrel aging. I have yet to have a barrel aged beer from them that wasn't outstanding. From using the perfect barrels to just the right amount of time in them. Incredibly smooth and drinkable. Thoroughly enjoyable. Might have to go back and get another growler.

Thanks to hopdog for sharing this one...
Appears a dark brown, nearing black with a red hue when held up to the light. The light tan head quickly fades into a mild cap. Spotty bits of lacing are left around the glass.
Smell is of obvious bourbon, cocoa, caramel, and dry rye.
Taste is of the mentioned aromas with more of a toffee-type flavor pulling through.
Mouthfeel is full bodied, dry, toffee lingering with a mild abv burn found in the finish.

Poured into a pint glass a very dark almost black color, completely opaque with a 1/2" med brown head. Good lacing and the head had some staying power. Was expecting the burnt malt smell of the Dark Star porter they offer but this was not nearly as strong a smelling beer. More of a heavy roasted smell with a sweet lingering aroma. The taste was a suprise, again roasted malt with a sweet almost fruity flavor and little hop presence. Being a bourbon drinker I really enjoyed the subtle wood tones in this beer. A very well crafted brew and a nice change up from their other porters

Growler acquired in trade with alexsdad06 (thanks!).

Poured a dark brown color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of lots of woodiness, roasty, some rye, and a little earthy. Tastes of woodiness, ligther earthiness, roast, rye, chocolate, and lighter vanilla. The bourbon was light and not overpowering. Alcohol content hidden.

A dark brown pour capped with a soft tan head that quickly fell back into the beer. For a porter I'd like to see more. Thankfully the aroma and taste up the points on this one.
The usual suspects: caramel, vanilla, wood, and toffee. What I like is that the chocolate isn't covered up in either armoa or taste. Since it's a porter the chocolate is important and gives the brew a nice softness in the wake of all that bourbon and wood.
it's a very rich beer, but not overpowering. Alcohol gives it a nice warmth. Another, please

*Notes from Terre Haute Tasting*

Pours a very thick oily black/brown with a very thick topping of dark beige head.
Smell is high is bourbon, sweet malts, and that interesting sweet grain nose of rye.
Taste is fronted with bourbon off the bat-followed by thick malts- then is takes me to the tell tale rye sweet/grain flavor.
Finish is wet-there is some malt left on my palate with the recurring rye coming through very well.
Drinks great here-there is a solid boozey quality that may hang you up and rye is an acquired taste- but it drinks very smoothly.

Growler shared by ajsdad.

Pours dark brown color with a large frothy light brown creamy head that was lasting with excellent lacing. Heavy toasted dark chocolate, wood and bourbon aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Moderate to heavy roasted bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet well whiskey finish of moderate to long duration.

This is a standout porter.
