On tap at the Lockview in Akron OH. Pours out as a nice deep black color with thick light brown head on it. The head settles and Leaves a ring of some nice lacing around the glass. The smell is wooden and roasted, not overly strong kind of has a sweet smell. Perhaps bourbon. The taste is roasted and sweet, not alcohol burn at all. The mouthfeel is lighter than expected but yet still creamy. Overall an enjoyable brew.

Had this on 2010-06-08 at Rivermont Pizza in Lynchburg, VA (from tasting notes)
A - Dark brown with zero head into a pint glass
S - Mild bourbon
T - Mild bourbon, toasted grain, licorice, mild chocolate, alcohol while breathing out. Mild, astringent bitterness. Dries pretty well with some sourness in the afteraste. I tired of the bourbon taste towards the bottom of the glass (bourbon isn't my favorite flavor in beer)
M - Light-medium body and carbonation. Not creamy.
D - I enjoyed the one I had but that was enough.

From a BBC growler to pint glass.
A: very opaque, black in color. Not much for head retention but when there is a head it's dark brown.
S: Smells heavy of bourbon with some sweet undertones thrown in the mix.
T/M: Tastes a bit like bourbon also. Delicious! Not too thick I cant say creamy but it definitely has good mouthfeel.
D: Superb. Goes down smooth and the taste of alcohol isn't too overpowering.

64oz. Growler from Party Town, poured into a pint.
A: Pours just about pitch black with some light in the edges. Pretty good head on the pour even after the barrel aging. Decent retention and lacing.
S: Not really getting bourbon in the nose but there's definitely some earthy, woody aromas. Plenty of oats and milky chocolate.
T/M: Only a bit of bourbon flavor but still some good woody notes. Good creamy oats and milky chocolate. Some dry powdery roasted malts. Body is about medium, which might be a bit low from the barrel. Still smooth and creamy from the oats.
D: Drinks pretty damn easy and I'd be surprised if this is bigger than 6.5%.
