An industry pint at YEG Oliver. The latest in the German rotational series brewed here.

This beer appears a clear medium bronzed amber hue, with one skinny finger of thin, bubbly beige head, which leaves a few random streaks of islet lace around the glass as things sink away.

It smells of lightly bready, grainy caramel malt, a touch of biscuit, mild apple and pear fruit notes, and a rather faint hint of generically pleasant noble hops. The taste is warm caramel pudding, buttered breakfast biscuit, faded drupe fruit, a touch of earthy yeast, and a burgeoning alcohol edge.

The bubbles are on the soft and wan side, the body a decent medium weight, and adequately smooth, the booze nipping cutely at the door. It finishes off-dry, the caramel and alcohol doing well to work together in near-perfect harmony.

As expected, Gunther rolls out another nicely warming, well-rounded German staple. While May has been more summer than spring like thus far, that doesn't matter here - prost!

Pint on tap at the 11th Ave, Calgary location. (Wasn't going to add as a 'new' beer in a different Brewster's location).
Clear, golden color with a small white head, no lacing to speak of.
Aroma is slightly caramel sweetness, with hint of grassy hops.
Taste is same caramel malty sweetness, with a light grassy hop bitterness.
Light to medium body, low to med carbonation.
I like them experimenting with different styles.
