The colour is golden yellow; the retention of the white compact two finger head is good as it slowly sinks down with a fizzing sound.
The smell is sweet with some hoppy notes of honey, cookies and butter. There is also a mild bitter flavour and a touch of coffee(!).
The taste is Sweet and not as clean as I thought it would be. Buttery flavours blends with sweet notes of bread and dough. There are some mild bitter notes in the aftertaste, as some hints of honey, mild coffee and cream. The finish introduces an earthy mineral touch.
This is one of the most quaffable beers I have had for a long time: Mild yet fresh carbonation with some small bubbles that makes a little foam in the mouth. The liquid is soft and smooth.
This beer could easily have gone all wrong, but the flavours blends cleverly, making it a fine session lager. In fact, it makes me think of English milds.
