This refreshing, light-golden Extra Pale Ale embodies drinkability. AleSmith X pushes the limits by offering a level of flavor not often found in this classic style. Fresh American hops are abundant but carefully balanced by a light, crisp body and smooth bitterness. Notes of citrus and pine combine with a delicate malt sweetness to create a flavorful drinking experience.

poured into duvel tulip glass.
Appearance: golden bodied beer with big 3 fingers of a fluffy white head. Lots of staying power on the head and it leaves a lot of lacing on the side of the glass. The head is chunky and drops down unevenly.
Smell: Big pine and big grapefruits in the nose. Lots of other citrus notes including oranges and lemons. Hint of tropical fruits especially pineapple which seems to be the most noteable. Just a hint of bready malts.
Taste: mild bitterness and a surprisingly decent amount of bready sweetness from the malts. At least when you consider the nose, I didnt expect to find this much of a malt backbone in the beer. Pine, grapefruit, oranges, pineapples, and a hint of lemons. It is a little bit grassy too. Mild bitterness consistantly through the beer and finish is also a mild bitterness than doesnt seem to overpower or build any bitterness through out the drink.
Mouthfeel: light bodied beer with low end of medium carbonation. Nice drinkability with this APA.
Overall: The big surprise was the malts. This beer was a bit sweeter than I expected. Its a good malt profile, but I was wanting more hop flavors. The bitterness of the APA was spot on. So if the malts can be tamed down a little bit and the hops can be more flavorful with becoming more bitter, this beer would skyrocket in mass appeal. Good APA, but has serious potential for greatness with a few tweaks of the recipe.

Pours a familiar pale ale mixture of yellow, gold and light orange with 2/3" white head. Pretty. Aroma of citrus, mostly lemon orange like hop notes. Smacks of Amarillo hops for dry hopping.
Taste keeps pushing the citrus aspect, light notes of grapefruit, lemon and unsweetened orange. Nice pale toasted malt body, good and dry. This is the other end of the pale ale spectrum, you got SNPA which is kind of malty by comparison, this doesn't have those hearty caramel + cascade notes like that beer, much drier and lighter, but still very good. Dry pine notes. Getting Cascade, Chinook, Centennial and Amarillo like notes out of it. Dunno if any of those are in here, but it comes off like a beer with those.
Its a pretty solid banger, something like this would make sense to rack into cans and sell for $10/6 pack. The bomber format (all I've ever seen these in) doesn't make sense for my consumption preferences. When you wanna drink for a good period of time and just crush, this ain't a bad option.

Look: bright yellow with some head that dissipates quickly, without any lacing.
Taste: first, the hop hits you, and you can taste the piney feel of hop, but then the massive malt back makes its appearance, and it is super sweet. You can feel the grainy aftertaste.
An excellent pale ale. Love the malt back!

Poured from a 12 OZ can into a pint glass. The appearance is a bright orange color with a small white head. The aroma is all oranges and some hops. The taste matches the nose.

Bottle poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewing Co pint glass
A: Pours golden yellow with a frothy off white head that settles to a light layer and leaves some nice lacing.
S: Floral, piney, grassy, a touch of citrus, faint fruity and herbal notes, biscuity malt, and a touch of caramel sweetness.
T: Floral, lemon and orange zest, mild pine, grassy, faint herbal and slightly fruity notes, biscuity malt, and a little caramel sweetness.
M: Light to medium body, moderate carbonation, pretty crisp and crushable.
O: This beer's been around a while and the recipe is starting to show a little age. Nothing wrong with it, but a little boring compared to a lot of more recent offerings.

Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a small, white head of foam. It smelled of pine, citrus and sweet caramel. Nice toasted caramel maltiness with a citrus kick of bitterness.
