The little brother of Horny Devil, this beer is an extremely drinkable belgian pale. I'm lucky enough to be in San Diego about once a week, and make it a point to stop by the AleSmith brewery as frequently as possible. This week, I was helping my girlfriend move, so I needed something that wouldn't get us too shnockered to actually get stuff done. This fit the bill perfectly! My only complaint is that once you've had Horny Devil, this seems a bit tame. For a session brew (altho at almost 6% it isn't really) this is a perfect choice. Smell is still right on, Belgian pale all the way, taste is very good, but the low ABV does make it a bit light, flavor wise.
All in all, a recommended brew, but do yourself a favor and try the Horny Devil as well.

Poured a nice golden color with a one finger, fluffy white head. Quite nice. Scents of fruit, apricot and peach mostly, with some slight citrus and pear alongside candi sugar and faint hints of Belgian yeast. Very appealing, a good Belgian golden aroma, though not the most complex. Flavor begins with apricot and peach, moves into spicy Belgian yeast and finishes with yeasts spiciness and some graininess. Aftertaste is grainy. Faint, fruity tang as it warms. Again, a good, basic Belgian ale flavor, but not as complex as some. Mouthfeel is light bodied with medium-high carbonation and a watery feel. Quite easy to drink, but very light compared to most Belgian Golden Ales. Overall a good, easy drinking, light take on a Belgian. It's not as rich, complex or deep as some, but it is a good warmer weather Belgian style beer.

12 ounce draft pour into a tulip. 5.5% ABV.
Appearance: Shiny golden amber. Brilliant, with a thin cap of foam (4.5/5).
Aroma: Clean, fresh, noble hop aroma, along with sweet apples (4/5).
Taste: This is a beautiful, delicate, beer. The hops are the predominate flavor, but it’s certainly not bitter. I also get a bit of pilsner malt and spiced cider (4.25/5).
Mouthfeel: Medium body, medium carbonation (4.25/5).
Overall: This beer is a wonderful example of the style; fresh, bright, and alive. I respect AleSmith for leaving this draft-only, because it would quickly die in a bottle (4.25/5).
