Tried this on tap recently. It was served way too cold and I had to hand warm it for a while before I could enjoy it. It was in the appropriate style of glass, and sat a lovely golden with a regal white cap. A column of carbonation rose from the center of the glass and replenished the head for the entire session. The beer also had excellent clarity.

The aroma was dominated by tart apple, and not just "as the major component" dominated, I mean like communist witch hunts were dominated by Sen. Joe McCarthy dominated. It was like was having it's own senate committee hearing on aroma and no one else got much of a say.

The taste was sweet and tart - a mixture of cider (no surprise) and like pale malt. Even as the beer warmed, the more delicate spices were less evident. I'm all for subtlety, but the cider flavor imparted by the yeast really prevented this from being a better beer.

The beer was naturally tart in the mouth and left a dry palette. Not bad, but not the best choice for a meal, and the flavor would have been better suited for a smaller serving.

Poured a nice golden color with a one finger, fluffy white head. Quite nice. Scents of fruit, apricot and peach mostly, with some slight citrus and pear alongside candi sugar and faint hints of Belgian yeast. Very appealing, a good Belgian golden aroma, though not the most complex. Flavor begins with apricot and peach, moves into spicy Belgian yeast and finishes with yeasts spiciness and some graininess. Aftertaste is grainy. Faint, fruity tang as it warms. Again, a good, basic Belgian ale flavor, but not as complex as some. Mouthfeel is light bodied with medium-high carbonation and a watery feel. Quite easy to drink, but very light compared to most Belgian Golden Ales. Overall a good, easy drinking, light take on a Belgian. It's not as rich, complex or deep as some, but it is a good warmer weather Belgian style beer.

12 ounce draft pour into a tulip. 5.5% ABV.
Appearance: Shiny golden amber. Brilliant, with a thin cap of foam (4.5/5).
Aroma: Clean, fresh, noble hop aroma, along with sweet apples (4/5).
Taste: This is a beautiful, delicate, beer. The hops are the predominate flavor, but it’s certainly not bitter. I also get a bit of pilsner malt and spiced cider (4.25/5).
Mouthfeel: Medium body, medium carbonation (4.25/5).
Overall: This beer is a wonderful example of the style; fresh, bright, and alive. I respect AleSmith for leaving this draft-only, because it would quickly die in a bottle (4.25/5).
