This is an impressive beer. Cellared for at least 18 months since I received it fro WasTrinkenSie. Thanks Tom! A great trading buddy! The appearance is a honeyed amber with a sizable white head. Decent lace as it slowly fades to a light covering.
Smell is full of tropical fruits and sweet malt. There is quite a bit of alcohol but it's kind of mild considering, nothing that tips you off the the high abv. Spicy and peppery with a lovely bouquet of coriander.
Taste is super sophisticated. Excellent Belgian malt platform that is sweet and bready. Yeast gives a cornucopia of fruit flavors. Pineapple, mango, banana. Spices fuse the fruit and malt core to the light and mild bittering in the finish. Sour apples and sourdough bread lingering with light bananas. Alcohol is so well integrated as to almost be invisible. Not quite but what you do taste and feel is mild especially considering the abv. I would have guessed 9%. Adding the yeast only improves the mix.
Feel is crisp, supple, and creamy at the same time. A light medium weight. As I introduce the yeast it becomes silkier, creamier and slightly fuller.
This is one to keep on hand if you have a cellar. This is delicious, smooth, strong, and surprisingly drinkable.

This was deceptively strong.
It pours a clear golden color. There’s a light aroma with a bit of an estery aroma to it. I found it sweetly flavored with an orange blossom characteristic shining through. I had enjoyed it thoroughly, felt it afterwards!

On tap at the Blind Lady Alehouse on the 4th of July in San Diego.
Appearance: Excellent clarity in the amber body. Small but semi-durable white head. Head leaves some sticky streaks and spots on the glass.
Aroma: Sweet biscuits, yeast and faint tropical notes.
Flavor: Fruity, slightly tart, mildly bitter. Banana and clove evident, as is the higher ABV. Seemed to have a narrow tempeature range for optimal flavor and balance. Moderate complexity. Relatively good finish and aftertaste.
Feel: Light-medium body with medium+ carbonation. ABV mostly evident.
O: true Belgian style and quality.
