This is a big flavorful beer. It's a Belgian all the way through. Banana is the biggest taste I get. It's lovely all the way, along with small orange notes. This Belgian Strong Pale Ale has a nice refreshing , and sweet fruit quality.

I have had this a month old and have aged it 2 and three years and it is always good.
Nose: fruit, apricot to pineapple, orange, a hint of banana, slightly sweet.
Pours orange tinted amber with a slight haze under a bone white 1" fluffy foam cap. Lacy and has legs.
Palate: Initial sweetness dissolves into honey and a range of fruit flavors such as apricot, pineapple, melon, and peach riding of a malt backbone with a light caramel touch and a light hop accent on the finish.
AleSmith has nailed the Belgian Strong Pale Ale texture achieving a very rich, creamy texture, a medium light to medium body that belies the level of alcohol, depth of yeast flavors and complex malt action in the beer. The carbonation is fine and soft and above average. It has an underlying sweetness balanced by the alcohol and light hop touch. In no way is it cloying.

(4.00) A: Orangish-brass coloring with a good clarity revels a fine misty rise of effervesce within. An eggshell white head at 2 inches height shows a strong rate of retention while being mostly lasting throughout the course of the drink. A near complete sheet lace coating suffocates the inner vessel walls.

(3.75) S: The nose brought forth a touch of wet lemony grapefruit, dry wheat grains with some sugary citrus. A bit of dry candy sugar sweetness and alcohol followed by some dry belgian yeastiness upon warming.

(4.05) T: Tart apple flavor, some spicy cinnamon alcohol, fruitiness of cantelope, and a banana yeastiness . Semi-dry pear, dry spicy belgian hop warmth with some cloves. Things conclude with hints of soft lemony and woodsy pine-pepper with a very delicate hop offering.

(3.85) M: Frothy mouthful, spicy warm hop and alcohol glow, tart and lightly dry.

(4.05) O: Overall a great belgian pale, spicy, dry hop and alcohol glow with a very delicate and balanced sense of hops and spiciness.

. Poured a hazy golden with almost no head. Was way to sweet for my taste in this style. My girlfriend who loves moscato and other sweet wines loved this.
