Consumed at Encinitas Ale House in Encinitas, CA on December 29th, 2010.
Beer is a clear, deep shade of brown with ruby red highlights. The head is composed of very fine, uniform bubbles that provide nice sheeting on the glass.
Aroma is unfortunately all metallic.
Mouthfeel is a bit chewy. Flavor is juicy and fruity: plum, pear, dark chocolate, caramel malts and a hint of nutmeg. Moderately sweet. Finish is dry, clean save for that metallic note. Slight warmth at end.
Flavor is assertive and unusual but not terribly complex; I'm glad I didn't have a big glass of this!
Serving type: on-tap
