Appearance: Nice tan two finger head that eventually recedes mostly to the perimeter. As expected, it's black and opaque. Looks like a big stout.
Smell: Dark chocolate, coffee, graham crackers, roasted malt, vanilla, coconut. Hoping that the taste lives up to the smell.
Taste: Semi-sweet baker's chocolate upfront, followed by some subtle vanilla in the middle. The end gives way to the roasted coffee and bitterness you'd expect afterwards. This is pretty complex and easy drinking for the abv(no way I'd guess this was 12% blind). Definitely lives up to the taste nicely. I bet the fresh version has more prominent coffee notes.
Mouthfeel: Smooth and velvety, but not too viscous. It's medium bodied for a big stout, and that's just fine. It's almost too easy to drink.
Overall: A great stout that I'd gladly drink again. Nothing to dislike really. This is a classic for a reason.
