750ml bottle - so thick it made a glug glug sound pouring out slowly. Apeeared a dark black with very little, if any, light shining through. About a 1/2", dense tan head.
Smell is sensational - sweet toffee and chocolate slightly behind the wafting aroma of coffee and some hops, as well.
First taste to hit my tongue and be deciphered was chocolate, with coffee and caramelly flavors close behind. Rich, dense brew seems to sit on your tongue much like some DIPA's. Almost a velcro on the taste buds effect. Multi-layered treats each time you sip, and as it warmed, it made a nice long evening treat. Alchohol is present, but it is not at all overpowering - just adds to the depth of flavors and mouthfeel.
Tremendous for sipping, and as nice background music was Garcia crooning out "New Speedway Boogie" as the last sips were taken from this monster bottle of a massive and completely satiating stout.
