Appearance is quite dark with a light brown fairly frothy head.
Smells include soy sauce, bakers chocolate and roasted notes.
Initial taste is carbonated and sharp, quickly followed by alcohol in the middle, then to chocolate and roast. Finish is long with alcohol, coffee, chocolate and then hops again at the end. Many flavors coming and going. Not quite as much coffee as I was hoping.
Mouthfeel is thin and first sip, but then smooths out on the palate.
This is a big stout with a lot going on at once. I think the hops maybe be a bit strong still, this bottle was likely bottled less than a year ago. Will give my other bottle another year to see if the hops fade further.
