Notes & Commercial Description:

Jet Black, with an off-white head. Starts with a strong coffee and dark chocolate sensation, then fades to a multitude of toasty, roasty and caramel malt flavors. Clean and crisp, full- bodied. Warmth from the high alcohol content lightens up the feel. You won't fool your taste buds - this beer is HUGE!

poured to a goblet glass

A- pours pitch black with a 1 finger mocha head that thins to a lace around the glass, visiable alcohol legs

S- rich brown sugar, intense dark and milk chocolates, roasted malt chararcters, some coffee notes, a touch of alcohol. a really good smelling stout

T- chocolate all over this thing, rich milk chocolate, sweet sugars, some, bitter dark chocolates, some sweet cherry middle of the mouth mixed with some raisin or dark fruits, a swish of alcohol on the end that kinda wraps around all the flavors and really brings them together

M- full bodied, milky, creamy, sweet all around low carbonation

O- a very enjoyable IS, very well blended and balanced. Extremely sweet, bold chocolate flavors. The only thing for me is that im not getting much of the coffee that it claims its brewed with, but all in all it is a great beer, cheers.

Bottled on 03/12/13.

Pours opaque black with a huge tan head that settles to a nice film and a ring on top with heavy lace. Near perfection.

Smell is of bitter dark chocolate, coffee and roasted malt. Very nice.

Taste is roasted malt, cocoa, bitter black coffee and hints of dark fruit.

Mouthfeel is heavy bodied, syrupy, thick and viscous with medium carbonation. 12% is nearly undetectable.

This is the one that started my obsession with craft beer. I'd be hard-pressed to find a way to improve this beer (perhaps more dark fruit sweetness). Big, bold and world class.
