From my notes.

A: A rich, dark copper with good head retention.

S: Pine/Resin with a little tropical fruit and a biscuit malt. It's more pine than fruit.

T: Citrus from the hops with lots of pine notes. A round malt body and a rich grapefruit bitter. Damn solid!

M: Round, medium body witha deep resin finish.

O: Very balanced, with a real classic IPA bitter. This is my kind of IPA. It values the more bitter, pine and grapefruit over the tropical fruit sweetness. Definitely a great beer!

On tap at Tony's Darts Away in Burbank, CA.

Pours a slightly murky light orange with a tan head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Foamy rings of lace line the glass on the drink down. Smell is of citrus fruit, citrus zest, and slight malt aromas. Taste is the same with a mild bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good IPA with nice citrusy aromas and flavors.

Received a 1 pt., 6 fl. oz. bottle of this in a trade w/ Cduckett. Poured from the Easy Labeled bottle w/ White Lettering into a 11.5 Snifter Glass. Has no freshness date on the bottle but am sure it was fresh from this review!

Aroma- Tons of hop and a nutty character that is only seen in the baddest of bad IPA's. Enjoyed coming back to this aroma.

Appearance- Pours a 1 finger head that is frothy with good retention. Has a deep copper colored body with a semi-hazy body. Leaves good lacing behind.

22 oz bomber, no bottle date, poured into a pint glass.

A- Pours a golden amber color, topped with a big creamy, fluffy off-white head that has good retention and leaves thick lacing all over the glass.

S- Very tropical, lots of citrus, mango, grapefruit, pine and resin are minimal, blended with some slightly sweet bready malts, some honey.

T- Big hops up front, also very tropical but with a more pronounced pine resin bitterness this time, the bitterness is well matched by a slightly thick, bready malt that has some sweetness again, has a long grassy bitter finish.

M- Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation, incredibly smooth and creamy.

O- A really delicious IPA, insanely drinkable, I just destroyed the entire bomber with total ease, none of the flavors are over the top but work very well together.

22oz bottle into an alchemist pint glass

A - apple juice colored body thats clear through. lots of visible carbonation with a fluffy three finger head that coats perfectly.

S - big notes of grapefruit and grass. orange peel, pepper, bubblegum, melon float in and out.

T - orange peel hits first bubblegum/cotton candy hybrid comes in after right before theres an amazing grapefruit punch to finish it off. grainy/bready malt backbone balances it all out. superb.

M - medium bodied with lots of carbonation. bottle conditioned so as the bottle says you get lots of little bubbles on your tongue. big feel of bitterness and heat from the alcohol with a dry finish. heat bitterness may be too much for some but i like it.

O - even with the bitterness and burn from some alcohol this is still amazingly drinkable a truly world class beer.

Picked up a bottle of this at Julio's. Poured into a Duvel tulip.

A - Pours a crystal clear light copper hue with a big, billowy two finger head that slumps down to a creamy, dense hald a finger blanket leaving ALOT of stick side lacing.

S - Lots of good pine/citrus (grapefruit) with this and some malt sweetness. Good dank hops. Lightly tropical (but not in the pineapple way) with a fair tangerine presense.

T - Taste is fairly nice with nice malty sweetness balanced nicely with the solid pine and citrus middle. Very nice hops with very light bitterness on the end. More solid tangerine notes.

M - This is a time when I wish they still had "drinkability" as a stat. This beer is so incredibly drinkable. The mouthfeel is slightly sharp yet creamy, especially on the finish. Each gulp has me craving more. God damn.

O - Overall, a very nice IPA from AleSmith. First time I've seen this in MA and glad I recognized it as a 4+ IPA. Would buy this again, so enjoyable.

Appearance: Clear orange/gold. Head is bright-white, rocky, and creamy. Drops to a thin ring. Some spotty sheeting on the glass. Carbonation is lively. Nice glowing depth of color.

Smell: Oranges and biscuit dough. Huge floral hit and some lingering pine and grapefruit rind. Big juicy aromas. Malts are big enough to help balance the big hop nose. Pithy with a lingering oily bitterness. Very slick and smooth. Faintly sweet and tropical.

Taste: Sticky, oily orange and pine. So very juicy. Like a punched up shot of grapefruit/orange juice soaked with pine needles. Incredibly floral with a lingering sweet mango-like flavor. Bready malts round everything out and make for a rather delightful drinking experience. Bigger pine hit than the nose. Lingering resin bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Smooth medium body. Carbonation is moderate and works well with the big fruit flavors. Very easy to drink time and again.

Overall: This beer is downright amazing once it warms up a bit. Loads of depth and a good balance to keep the tongue happy. A firm notch for Alesmith. Falls off pretty quickly, but fresh it's a force.

Poured a rich, slightly cloudy tangerine with a small finger of white head. Malty caramel aroma with pine, grapefruit, and perhaps some tropical fruit.

Moderate carbonation and a light, dry mouthfeel. Pine and grapefruit up front with some melon, pineapple, a subtle caramel/honey backbone, and more astringent pine on the finish.

Less malty than the aroma indicated (this bottle might have been a touch old)...reminded me of a less-tropical Sculpin IPA.

Split a 22oz bottle with my buddy, poured into a duvel glass

A- pours a clean golden orange with a little less then a finger of off white tannish head that dissapates slowly and leaves a little bit of lacing.

S- deep sticky citrus, tropical fruit, a bit of sweetness, and a touch of Pine.... The smell reminds me of tropical fruit gummy savers.

T- the taste follows the nose except the pine is more pronounced, all the flavors blend very nicley with one another for a very well balanced brew, and a touch of citrusy malt sweetness holds it all together.

M- medium body with sharp medium carbonation, Very well rounded and drinkable, nice and lush.

O- a great ipa that is bet well rounded, everything works very well together here, a great beer from a great brewery, It's Pretty Awesome.
