Tap at O’Briens for Night of Million Zillion Speedways. The best of the 16 on tap by a mile, and one of my favorite RIS experiences since BCS Rare. The pour is inky with a small, menacing head when I was fortunate enough to get a 10oz pour later in the evening :0 Nose is nearly perfect- fresh coconut meat, cocoa butter, pistachio, Nutella, bourbon. It exudes a better, more integrated nose than the actual Pistachio and Nutella Speedways, and creates a faux bourbon barrel character like Pappy Van Winkle by simply HAVING toasted and fresh coconut and vanilla mimicking the much more expensive and time consuming hints of wood vanillin and coconut from high end American bourbon. The higher 12% alcohol sweetness blends perfectly to make this essentially the "Poor Man’s BCS Rare". Taste is perfect- insane amounts of chewy coconut, bourbon, pistachio, Nutella. By far the best Speedway I’ve ever had and better than the actual BA version. Better than BCS Rare. Drank a total of 25oz of this stuff FTW.

On tap at O'Brien's Million Zillion Speedways event for SDBW.

A: Pours an opaque black. Creamy, brown head that dissipates quickly and leaves small amounts of spotty lacing.

N: As the name would suggest, there is a lot of vanilla and coconut on the nose. Also some dark chocolate and smaller amounts of roasted malts and coffee.

T: Much like the nose, up front, the taste is an amazing blend of vanilla and coconut. Dark chocolate, coffee and toasted malts in the background. Incredibly well balanced. All of the flavors blend perfectly. Not much alcohol presence. It definitely takes a back seat to everything else.

M: Full-bodied, chewy, creamy mouthfeel. Medium-light carbonation. Perfect for the style.

O: Incredibly smooth and drinkable. The vanilla and coconut blend beautifully with the base beer. I will be seeking this one out again.

Million Zillion.

Pours a slippery, pitch black. Phenomenal nose. Sweet and intense interplay of bakery like aromas of vanilla, almond, coconut, and dark chocolate seamlessly blend the roast coffee of Speedway. Flavor is intensely coconut, reminds me somewhat of Rare DOS in that regard. The coconut and vanilla take over the flavor a little more than they do the nose, but who cares. Still a strong dark chocolate, roast coffee, and toasted malt presence throughout. Nothing artificial or cloying, far surpasses any of the Funky Buddha treatments that come to mind. Perfect body, medium thick, soft and silky. Dinging the flavor and overall half a point since it didn't quite transcend or match the clearly inflated memory of my first Rare DOS in my mind (and also, it's not HF Ann, but what is?). Regardless, pretty amazing.

On tap at O'Brien's for 2012 SDBW.

A: Deep, slick black with a ring of fine, medium dark brown head. No real lacing, but it retains the foam quite well. Almost like looking at an espresso.

S: Vanilla bean ice cream and just a little coconut. Medium roast coffee and dark chocolate take a backseat to the vanilla and coconut.

T: Full, round vanilla, moderate toasty coconut. They are awesome complements. Coffee and dark chocolate. The flavor washes over your palate and fades slowly away.

M: Silky, full bodied, sticky, with medium-light carbonation which works wonderfully with the body.

O: Oh my goodness, this is incredible. Melt in your mouth good. Peter described this as like drinking a Mounds bar. Seems apt enough to me.

Had this on tap at 2009 ba speedway release and Danny Fullpints Birthday Celebration!

A: Pitch black with a thick dark mocha head

N: vanilla and coconut with a hint of coffee. As the beer warmed up the coconut really started to shine.

T: Very much like the nose, nice vanilla and coconut flavors matched with roasted malt and a very pleasant bitter coffee flavor.

M: creamy and luscious.

O: This is without a doubt my favorite non barrel aged stout. I wish alesmith would make this more often! Let it be known that i absolutely love coconut, and this is the best coconut beer i have had.

On tap for the Full Pint's fif anniversary party at Najas. Reviewed from notes.

A: Pours black with a fine mocha head which leaves spotty lace.

N: Initially the vanilla is dominant, but as it warms the interwoven coffee and coconut emerge and greet the vanilla in a most lovely dance.

T: Similar to the aroma. As warms the intense coconut and vanilla wrap around the coffee and just meld perfectly.

M: Full body and moderate carbonation. Rich, creamy, exquisite.

O: Nearly perfect in every way. One of my all-time top beers ever. Given 5 tickets I used my first two on this and looking back I should have gotten a few more. Unreal.

Full pint on tap at the Full Pint 5th Anniversary on a horribly muggy crowded evening at Naja's Place. This stuff is black like the normal Speedway, with a coffee colored small head with the potential of coconut floaties. I will not hold that against it. Aroma is a scent that can only be achieved through copious amounts of coconut not even possible to have in a large batch of beer, it mixes with the coffee to the point it doesn't really smell like coffee or dark malts, but just some kind of fragrant coconut nectar and fruity dark chocolate. The taste is a coconut elixir so fantastic it is unfair to compare to any mass produced beer. You will never taste coconut like this in large batches, it just isn't humanly possible. Even beers like CoCoNut Porter don't even begin to approach this. The coconut transforms the abundant coffee notes into chocolate milk nearly... the rough edges of dark malt and coffee smooth out enough that the richness of the beer softly caresses the palate in an overtly sensual manner. This is probably the best beer in the world, not sure but yeah it probably is.
