Red and green 22oz bottle - Winter 2007 edition. Big thanks to stewdawg for sending this my way in Beer Powerball.
Pours a beautiful copper-red with big off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both excellent.
The aroma is hops all the way. Citrusy with pineapple and grapefruit, spicy, and loads of pine. A hint of caramel malt lingers behind all the hoppiness.
Taste is similar to the aroma with the pine dominating the other hop flavors. Citrus and spice are present, and mix well with the burnt caramel malt backbone. Notes of pepper are present as well. Not as malty in my experience as others for the same vintage and time of consumption. Still had some mouth-puckering bitterness and a solid malt foundation that let the hops shine. Finishes with lingering bitterness and pine flavors.
Medium-full in body, rich, smooth, and slick. A little too much carbonation im my opinion, but not enough to take away from enjoying.
Drinkability is pretty good - alcohol gets a little noticeable, but not overpowering. Could finish a bottle (22oz), but wouldn't reach for another. A great beer all-around.

Serving Type - 22oz bottle
Appearance - Golden tan, mellow yellow with a killer 3 inch thick, foamy head. Tons of sticky lacing.
Smell - Nice upfront citric, piney, grapefruit hops. Orange, some lemon, mild malt backbone. Sweet added sugars, along with some spices like coriander, lemon peel.
Taste - Right on par with aroma, big amounts of citric fruits featuring pine, grapefruit and orange. A bitter kick with some minor spices add a little zest behind tangerine and mango. A nice sugary note along with a caramel malt backbone.
Mouthfeel - Sweet tropical fruits along with some sugars coat the tongue. Palate gets more citric fruits, along with the caramel backbone. Aftertaste is minor bitter, tropical fruity.
Overall - Awesome. This should be a regular release. Really flavorful, nice amounts of hops and sweet sugars to create a nice smooth drink. Alcohol is hidden well and just adds to making this really pleasurable to drink.
