Notes/Commercial Description:
Lots of hops with a nice malty backbone on this one. It is released twice yearly; once in the Summer and once in the late Fall / early Winter. Winter bottles have green & red ink, Summer is blue & red. There is a variation in the malt bill for each version.

Poured bottle into Lost Abbey Teku

A-Pours a beautiful clear golden color with a three finger white head. Great lacing.

S-Aromas of grapefruit and orange.

T-Very complex flavors with the Initial flavor of orange and grapefruit with a nice bitterness of the hops in the middle, and then sweetness of the malt.

M-Mouthfeel is well balanced with great carbonation.

O-This was one of my ISO after I had their IPA and they didn't disappoint me. I must try more of their brews especially speedway.

This has got to be one of the best dipas I've had in a while now, the last really great one having been chillwave... Not that I ever get access to really good fresh dipas, considering the fact that I live in Virginia. The hop presence is very juicy and smooth, as opposed to resinous or bitter. There is plenty of orange and tangerine on the nose and in the flavor. All of the citrus notes are on the much sweeter, mellow side of things. The appearance is absolutely beautiful. There is a big, fluffy white head that leaves plenty of lacing and recedes to a full fluffy island of foam floating in the middle of the glass. The only complaint I have is that there is a little bit of sulfur poking through but HOLY SHIT this beer was bottled in may. I wonder what it would have tasted like fresh? It still tastes like a world-class dipa almost 4 months later. Very good, highly recommended, and totally worth seeking out.

A - Cloudy, slight red hue. Generous lasting head.
S - Citrus (orange) notes. Apparent as soon as you pop the cap. Nice underlying grapefruit smell.
T - Hint of carmal, with citrus and anise tastes. Hops tartness but not abundant.
M - Tastes slide easily from one to another.
O - With the anise spiceness and the high alcohol content (8.5%) it seems less of a summer ale and more of a winter warmer.Not that that matters. There's lots to like in this brew.

A: Pours a clear medium yellow in color with light to moderate amounts of gentle visible carbonation rising slowly form the bottom of the glass and some faint golden yellow highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense foamy light beige head that slowly reduces to a large sized finger thick cap in the center of the glass with a very thick film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Significant amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Slightly heavier than moderate aromas citrus/grapefruit, citrus/grapefruit zest, and tropical/pineapple hops with a light amount of pine hops. Underneath that there is a light to moderate aroma of slightly sweet grainy malts.

T: Upfront there is a moderate flavor of caramel and grainy malts which contribute a moderate amount of initial sweetness to the beer. That is followed by slightly stronger than moderate flavors of citrus/grapefruit and citrus/grapefruit zest hops with a light to moderate flavor of tropical/pineapple and pine hops. Moderate amounts of bitterness are present which lingers for quite a while.

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly crisp with a hint of dryness in the finish.

O: A pretty hop aggressive DIPA and a fairly enjoyable one. Definitely a beer that takes a while to consume but paired very nicely with some homemade indian curry - really worked well with the sweetness of the beer and the spiciness of the food.
