On tap at the SD Taproom 9th anniversary on 02/27/16.
Pours translucent brown with a thin khaki head. Faint nut aroma. Some nut, honey and vanilla flavor. Not much barrel presence here. Everything tastes diluted and watered down.

Im a huge fan of Alesmith's Nut Brown anyway but the BA version just ups ante so much on beer style that so many people overlook. The normal variety of this beer is semi-sweet and roasty with notes of caramel and coffee. The BA version, however, adds a whole new level of complexity. Rich layers of barrel flavor pair amazingly well with the natural notes the flagship variety already has. Great beer.

Pours like a brown ale, but looks like it lost some carbonation in the barrels.
Really nice malty aroma. Lots of vanilla from the barrels. Brown ales don't really have an aroma that is enjoyable but leave it in a barrel and it does.
Nice coconut right up front. Followed by the chocolatey malts and vanilla oak. Surprisingly amazing.
